I'm NE England. Heating has been on today. Really nippy here. I am coming down with a cold though so may be feeling colder than usual. Dh said it's cold too though.

Where are you if it's gone on?

SW here. Ours came on overnight last night but it doesn't seem that cold (although I am currently in bed with a headache) I've adjusted the thermostat so it doesn't come on tonight as I need to bleed the radiators etc & need some help to do that at the weekend.

alrightluv · 12/09/2024 20:40

Shows it's cold all over then.

Feel for those struggling to pay for heating and having to put it on already.

Think I'll have an early night and snuggle under the duvet.

Central Scotland and still holding out but really feeling the chill in the mornings getting up for work! Extra throw on the bed and hot water bottle deployed.

Pointynoseowner · 12/09/2024 20:41

Yes West Midlands

Tumblingjungleofchaos · 12/09/2024 20:41

North Scotland. An hour last night and so far it's been on since around 7pm tonight. It feels really cold outside as it's windy too.

It's early for us to pop the heating on, we usually manage until end Sept/first week Oct.

Portfun24 · 12/09/2024 20:41

South West Scotland and its been cold enough this evening but I just put a big longlength cardigan on and a blanket over me as no one else was in.

Luta · 12/09/2024 20:43

North Scotland, had it on the last couple of days and a few days in August. It’s cold and I’m struggling health wise.

Fluufer · 12/09/2024 20:44

South East, went on for the first time last night, has clicked on again briefly this evening. Due to warm up again after tomorrow, so expect it will be a while until it goes back on again.

IggyAce · 12/09/2024 20:44

NE I put the heating on yesterday to finish off drying the bedding, it went from bright sunshine to hail within seconds yesterday afternoon.
This evening I’m wearing my fleece pjs there is definitely a chill in the air.

Helplessandheartbroke · 12/09/2024 20:46

Mines been on and off this week. Manchester. Some to get washing dry and some as it's cold

henlake7 · 12/09/2024 20:47

South east and still leaving the window open during the day (it's cold but I'm trying to acclimate myself!LOL).
TBH I've seen people out today in shorts and tee shirts and big coats and scarves.....not to mention one very confused girl with a giant puffer coat with hood up and tiny shorts!

RandomUsernameHere · 12/09/2024 20:49

Not yet but it's definitely cold enough to put it on. South West. Will hold out a bit longer as it's supposed to get a lot warmer next week. Currently in bed with a thick dressing gown on.

BigBoysDontCry · 12/09/2024 20:49

Scotland. Not many days it has actually been off to be honest. But then with the standing charge I'm £1 a day before I flick a switch on anything 🤷

Happyinheels · 12/09/2024 20:50

I'm in the NE too and I've had to stick it on tonight to take the chill off the house - can't believe how cold it is for this time of year. I can normally make it to October half term before I put it on 😩

herecomesautumn · 12/09/2024 20:51

I'm in Perthshire and put the heating on last night and again tonight

It's baltic

Lovelynames123 · 12/09/2024 20:52

Also NE England, on now and I've set it to come on in the morning, I really hate the cold, was hoping for summer to last a bit longer!

JingsMahBucket · 12/09/2024 20:52

Just put ours on to warm up the house and especially the bedroom. It’s 15.5C in the bedroom which is in the back of the house and gets less sunlight day to day. I’ve also put an electric water bottle in the bed to warm up the sheets before I hop in. We’re in SE Scotland.

Perpetualstateofchaos · 12/09/2024 20:52

East Midlands and on here. I'm 2 days post ovary removal ans fractured wrist and ds2 has a cold so figured we'd have the warmth earlier as we need it. Also gives new boiler a check before winter sets in.

piscofrisco · 12/09/2024 20:52

Hertfordshire. Our house is freezing at the best of times. It was cold all day but it really dropped about 4pm, started raining and there was hail for a bit and we were all freezing so on it went.

Still freezing downstairs-as always but at least upstairs is warm.

Not looking forward to getting up in the early hours with pisco pup who still does not sleep through the night.

Vettrianofan · 12/09/2024 20:53

A very cold area 🥶

NewGreenDuck · 12/09/2024 20:53

Yorkshire coast. There is a chilly wind coming in from the sea tonight.

LaurieFairyCake · 12/09/2024 20:54

First time today in London for 2 hours as had clients and it was 15 degrees in the office

Never done it in September before

QuestionableMouse · 12/09/2024 20:55

NE England - car said it's 10c ATM!

RottenApplesSpoilTheLot · 12/09/2024 20:55

South coast here - gave it a blast about an hour ago as it was very nippy !

spikeandbuffy · 12/09/2024 20:55

I'm surprised as in Lancashire and it's usually colder here
19c inside and I'm in a t shirt, no heating
