I’ve just been binging the first series. Sue White in the last episode left me hysterical. It’s just all so bonkers! I found a thread on MN from nearly 20 years ago about it, has anyone been on here that long?

I haven't been on here 20 years but I do fucking love Green Wing (see username for proof 😉)

I LOVE Green Wing and Sue White and Guy Secretan. They're both brilliant characters.

I loved it sooo much. Every character was brilliantly written and portrayed.

Massive Green Wing fan here. I adore them all, even Alan Statham. His bromance with Boycie is a glorious thing. The story arc over the whole thing is perfect. It is absolutely mad, but also hilarious, lovely and touching in places. Bears rewatching all the way through every couple of years.

Pocketfullofdogtreats · 11/09/2024 22:35

I loved it. I remember one of the plot twists... Yikes!! Won't spoil. 😉

NotMeekNotObedient · 11/09/2024 22:36

I'm binged watched this series so many times! Great stuff!

FourLastSongs · 11/09/2024 22:37

Have the old fans listened to the new Audible series? It is utterly brilliant

Milliondoll · 11/09/2024 22:38

Mark Heap is brilliant. As are they all.

I have only been here 18 years but loved Green Wing and never rewatched but it's about time!

PrincessOfPreschool · 11/09/2024 22:38

What did you watch it on?

margegunderson · 11/09/2024 22:39

It's glorious. Rewatched it with the teens who also adored it during lockdown. The piccolo love scene... Sue White...

What did you watch it on?

On Channel 4 catch-up, I’m not sure what it’s called now.

Don’t. Touch. My. Sopranino.

Epic romance between Joanna and Dr Statham 😍

Olivia Coleman was also very funny in it.

Absolutely love Green Wing

AyeupDuck · 12/09/2024 08:30

I have it on DvD and have been in MN for 20 years! Have watched the series twice entirely.

BobbinThreadbare123 · 12/09/2024 08:32

I love Green Wing! So funny! "Did you just touch my squirrel?!!"

mrssquidink · 12/09/2024 08:38

Oh I loved it! My husband (who works in the NHS) tells me it is a very accurate representation of medical HR 😬.

ReadWithScepticism · 12/09/2024 08:39

Oooh, so Channel 4 have it available to watch online! Loved this when it was on telly. Will definitely binge it now.

Thinking back fondly to the time when Tamsin Greig was first and foremost Debbie From The Archers and it was so weird and such a revelation to see her being so brilliantly funny in such crazy roles. What would Brian and Jennifer have thought!

ReadWithScepticism · 12/09/2024 08:40

Oh, yes Olivia Coleman as the desperately stressed batty mum! She was soooo often brilliant in relatively humble support roles in those days. Wonderfully vindicating that she has such towering success now.

InMySpareTime · 12/09/2024 08:47

@Pocketfullofdogtreats I assume the plot twist that leads to the ambulance cliffhanger. The episode description for that is a sentence you wouldn't see anywhere else.
We watched at the time and rewatched last year. Got DD into it as she was too young first time round.

Loved it. And the audible series was brill too.

Watched it recently with the kids and DS literally cried laughing when Mac stabbed Guy with the scalpel.
