Any Green Wing fans around?

I’ve just been binging the first series. Sue White in the last episode left me hysterical. It’s just all so bonkers! I found a thread on MN from nearly 20 years ago about it, has anyone been on here that long?

Loved it but watch Friday night dinner as well, it's got green wing ness about it.

Not the last series, that was dross.

The earlier ones were great (& some filmed in a hospital near me too!)

Every single character is superb. Not a single wasted line of dialogue.

Michelle Gomez (Sue) was just gloriously and utterly bonkers. Superb actor.

Apparently the auditions for the Guy/Mac characters involved improv and Stephen Mangan wiped the floor with everyone.

I wasn't thinking of that one... It's the one where Stephen Mangan nearly has a one night stand with someone totally inappropriate! And the revelation that comes about from that. Totally brilliant! H

We loved it, it made me cry with laughter. Statham trying to hide the gall bladder in the operating theatre is just one scene that stays with me. Introduced DD to it, she's now 25 and she has introduced her friends to it.

@Pocketfullofdogtreats that is the plot twist that leads to the ambulance cliffhanger.

Utterly loved it. Tried to rewatch it with teen DS recently but he didn't find it funny at all, which is incomprehensible to me. The coffee enema scene was possibly my favourite.

Loved it when it first came out, and watched some of them again a few years ago.

At one point, I too had a Green Wing username but it was really inappropriate so I changed it. I often think about returning to it but I had posts deleted because of it and, if anything, MN is probably even more easily offended than it was back then!

DH (doctor) and I (nurse) both agree this is THE most accurate hospital programme ever, confirmed by several of our friends in the profession.
Also been in MN 22 years.

I was training as a midwife when this was on originally. I LOVED Mac, he was my dream future husband 🤣 so many things in this series that we still reference at home.

I loved Green Wing and watched it numerous times, was completely in love with Dr McCartney. I'm a bit scared to rewatch now though. How does it stand up to current standards re sexual harassment etc?.
