And are you on a meter?
How many family members etc...

I'm one adult, 2 primary dc.
No shower but we share baths. Not every day
4-5 loads of washing a week.

Not on a meter.
£74 a month.

£35 a month on a meter. 2 of us

ArabellaFishwife · 11/09/2024 14:50

Metered. Four adults, monthly bill about the same size as yours, OP. No hosepipes or pools.

redtrain123 · 11/09/2024 14:51

We’re around £55, water and sewage combined. Three adults in household. We have a meter.

£22 a month. Not on a meter. Small house with only me living here.

eggandchip · 11/09/2024 14:54

£17 a fortnight.

TellerTuesday · 11/09/2024 15:10

No meter.

£85.80 per month over 10 months.

Yorkshire water who appear to be the most expensive in the country 😫

sanityisamyth · 11/09/2024 15:14

Meter.

1 adult, 10 ten year old

£30 a month

£60pm NW England United Utilities. On a meter. Seem to be under the normal usage for a 4 bed house.

2 Adults, 2 Teens. Daily showers dor everyone. 4x laundry a week, 3x dishwasher a week. 1 car wash every 2 months.

StrangewaysHereWeCome · 11/09/2024 15:22

£475 annually. Not metered. We are two adults, two teens in a smaller than average house, so the old rates system works in our favour. Pretty convinced we'd spend more if metered.

CountingCrones · 11/09/2024 15:24

Fuck me! How are your bills so tiny??

£120 a month. Not metered.

This is such an odd coincidence, but your post is almost exactly what I was going to write, down to the provider.

Although, we're 2 adults 3 teens and dishwasher run at least once a day, sometimes twice.

So maybe not almost exactly Grin.

I don't really understand how to interpret my bill - I've just logged in and it says I'm £186 in credit?!

(Previous house not on a meter we paid £35 a month)

FooFighter99 · 11/09/2024 15:33

North West, 3 bed mid-terrace, not on a meter - £25 a month

When did you last read your meter? Either they're charging too much, or they've not had a recent reading.

edwinbear · 11/09/2024 15:44

No meter, Thames Water. 2 adults, 2 teen DC. DS showers about 3 times a day (sport) rest of us once, washing machine is on daily. £44 a month. I'm in no rush to go onto a meter!.

Itsallaloadofbollocks · 11/09/2024 15:45

No meter.
2 adults
Many animals.
£350/year.

Allnewtometoo · 11/09/2024 15:45

So varied.

Anglian Water, 2 bed terrace, so I really don't think it should be so high! I'm on a chat with them now. I'm sure I'm paying far too much.

Are some people not including both bills for fresh and sewage?

Mine is £70 a month for both 2 bed flat, myself and a teen

LBOCS2 · 11/09/2024 15:48

We're on a meter - we pay £25 a month and are in credit. 2 adults, 2 children, 1 teen here EOW and holidays.

I am baffled at how little water we seem to use but I'm not going to question it!

Ratfinkstinkypink · 11/09/2024 15:51

Not metered, me and an under 5, £17 a month.

How would I know? The DD is just taken out for the combined bill.

StartingANewNameToday · 11/09/2024 15:54

5 people - 2 adults, 2 teens, 1 primary age child. Plus dog.

Lots and lots of showers and a ridiculous amount of washing (3 boys playing multiple sports). Mud loving spaniel that needs hosing down nearly daily. Suffice to say I think we're probably very high users.

£58 pm on a meter.

JadeSeahorse · 11/09/2024 15:58

Blimey! We are metered 4 bedroomed detached with 2 bathrooms but there's only the two of us.

However we take 2 showers and 2 baths every day, dishwasher on daily, washing machine at least 5 times per week.

Our last bill was £162 for the previous 6 months - end Jan to end July - and that was expensive compared to previous ones which were normally around £135.

We pay the bill in total when it arrives.
Severn Trent Water if that helps.

dutysuite · 11/09/2024 16:01

There was a meter already installed when I bought my house. I didn’t want it but was told it had to stay. I pay £49 a month, I use the dishwasher and washing machine almost daily and shower daily. I’ve queried several times the price I’m paying because I can’t see the dial on the meter which is on the street.

Singleandproud · 11/09/2024 16:08

@CountingCrones mine is combined now too but used to be charged separately around £35 each. So I just wondered if the difference between some saying their bill was around £30 and others saying double that were only quoting part of the bill assuming OP just meant fresh water or whether there is a huge difference for both combined around the country.

MyGirlDaisy · 11/09/2024 16:17

Metered - 4 adults. Lots of showers, run dishwasher every day and washing machine when full but seem to have a lot of washing. Have water butts, try to be water efficient and it’s £100 a month combined water and sewage. South East Water - terrible company always discharging sewage into the sea 😡
