Tea, properly made tea. It is essential that it is perfect, every time.

Possibly also 1 piece swimsuits, I cannot abide a narrow gusset or strap that slips.

What about you?

Buffet restaurants. My 10 year old has autism and can't cope with waiting for a meal at a restaurant. Buffet restaurants are the perfect compromise. I know the location of all our local ones and loads of others in different places too.

People. I can usually get the character of someone within a short time of meeting them.

@user47 No, I heat milk and lumps on chocolate in a small pan on the stove and stir it with a whisk. Don't let it fully boil, and if the chocolate goes bitty (which happens with very dark chocolate) just whisk it a bit harder. Add cream if wanted once you've turned the heat off.

Back in my drinking days I added whisky or cherry brandy too.

I am with the OP’s DH - I think you’d really like it made with a shaker. I have this one:

I have bags of Callebaut chocolate callets, some very dark ones for me, some 51% ones for the kids and sometimes some milk choc ones as well. Also a few bags of pendragons choc flakes - there’s a bit of sugar in there too in with the choc so not as pure and wonderful as the proper chocolate, but they do lovely dark spice flavour, or chocolate orange, which the kids like.

I pour the choc callets into the shaker, heat my milk in the microwave (can add cardamom pods or cinnamon if you want), then pour the milk on top and shake vigorously for about 20-30 seconds. The chocolate melts and fully emulsifies in with the milk. It’s wonderful and a lot quicker and easier than using a milk pan. Just chocolate melted perfectly into hot milk.

Lasagne. My lasagne won a prize once. I'm very fussy about other lasagnes's and people regularly request mine as a gift for their birthday or such.

I desperately need your recipe. I beg you. Please 🙏🏼 Flowers

Food wise, my brownies are heavenly - perfected the recipe over many years. Same with mousse au chocolat.

Lands' End tugless swimsuit. They have a DDD option (it shows in the title of the product) which accommodates my GGs. They often have discount codes. Get a few sizes to try. Returns are £2.90 I think but worth it for their discounts, fast delivery and a good swimsuit.

What a combo. Madam, I salute you.

I'd say I'm more a master of none when it comes to food.

I guess bread. Obsessed with bagels and Italian bread, and french bread, Turkish bread...mmm...
So, I'm very partial to various types of bread and get very upset about the chorleywood method. But I have never baked a loaf of bread in my life!

A bit like Greg Wallace judging people's cooking. He probably can't even heat up a tin of spaghetti hoops?! Lol

Wow that's the second Caesar salad aficionado on the thread, I am amazed.

I had a bloody awful one the other week and was gutted.

I know a LOT about pianos from working for 30 years in restoration, plus teaching piano since I was a teenager. Teaching in itself doesn't confer automatic technical knowledge, but my teaching experience helps me advise people on which piano is best for them.

I'm pretty awesome at desserts, too. I hate general cooking but like baking and desserts. Largely because I love eating them.

I was going to say hot chocolate!

It started when I ran out of powder in early lockdown but had plenty of milk and very dark chocolate. Now I only make it with real chocolate, and I have it bitter (at least 85%) with added double cream before bed, sometimes with chilli flakes infused in the milk, or ginger. I'm trying cardamom pods tonight.

But I can no longer drink cheap hot chocolate, which is a pain.

omg 😍

VW campervan parts. I started converting a VW transporter after the death of my brother and I grew into an expert ( well amongst my peers) in all things campervan conversion; pop tops, electric wiring systems, the best insulation, etc etc.
anyway I'm staying in it now in the Yorkshire dales so it paid off.
