Well it was a lot shorter than the Barclays scam that went on for days even when I told them I was in oncology having chemo they scammed £9000 out of me and, thanks to you lot I got it back. This time he called asking if I paid for postage from Evri in reply to an email Evri sent saying they couldn’t deliver. I went into that email and filled it all in but never paid the delivery. He told me it was a scam and they need to send me a new card. I said well the parcel has still turned up and I’m not interested in a new card I use my phone anyway and I will call you back. His reply? F you and put the phone down. Honestly, they are relentless.

My DM is 83, sharp as a tack but very anti tech.

She gets scam calls but laughs at them. "You're computer is infected with a virus".... "I don't have a computer". A few times she has been called a liar.

Same with "We need to check your Internet.".

We got rid of our landline, after all we all have Mobile phones. I still get the occasional scam call on my mobile, I try and string them along.

Like someone above, I had a WhatsApp message claiming to be from my child. I have three children, so asked which one, got no reply!

You shouldn't even open the email, they get a lot of information about you when you do that, which they can either use or sell on. And certainly never reply to an email you think is suspicious. Even though you didn't send money you bought into the scam and made things more dangerous for yourself. Don't do it! Stay safe!

They can get your IP address and browser type if you have automatic image loading enabled in your email settings, so turn that off. They can't get anything else just from you opening the email.

It can be hard to know that the email is dodgy without opening it to read it.
