Oh, that decision will bring howls from the Two Tier Keir lot.

Back to dentists, DH spoke to a practice, yesterday, which had been listed as having NHS availability. Not any more, it turns out, as two of their dentists had just left..

(sorry, no tax. I turned up with empty pockets)

TooBigForMyBoots · 13/09/2024 19:11

Best of luck @Piggywaspushed.Thanks

SerendipityJane · 13/09/2024 19:16

Apparently Cleverly - former Home Secretary - has admitted the whole "nasty ECHR won't let us" narrative was a load of bollocks designed to inflame gammons, and it was SCOTUK that was the reason Rwanda was (and will forever be) a failure.

It's almost like he's trying to gaslight us into forgetting he was part of Project Sunak.

I spoke to an NHS Dentist, in Liskeard, recently, i was told that nothing announced by the Tories or anything in Labours manifesto will have them open up their waiting lists, which are over 4 years long, they also won't do more emergency treatment, not because they can't but because it just means the patient keeps coming back and it just ties up their dentists, they need to get that patient's teeth back up to scratch but the Govt wont pay for that, so they just end up just fire fighting.

I was told to ring them back in 5 years time and see if anything has changed.

I recently paid £860 for root canal, the same treatment would have seen the Dentist get around £320 from the NHS, thats the problem and sorry Mr Starmer, that will require you to stump up money.

BestIsWest · 13/09/2024 20:14

We’re generally lucky here with NHS dentists. We both have excellent ones. I’ve had some mouth issues of late and my dentist has fitted me in on the same day at least twice. Referral to hospital maxillofacial dept though is at 10 months and counting.

Aside from anything else this is pretty extraordinary-

"Johnson created a new peer for every 16 days in office. Liz Truss survived only 49 days in Downing Street yet managed to ennoble no fewer than 32 friends and colleagues—that’s a new peer for every day and a half in the job."

And what I assume will happen next is that Labour will similarly appoint a large number in order to get through their legislative agenda and on it goes...

Good luck Piggy for next week.

Hello!

I'm here! Never been deleted !

I've had a lot on my plate and feel generally stressed so trying not to additionally process politics but follow along.

I am in for an operation next week to have my gallbladder removed. Not looking forward to this but do have two weeks afterwards to hopefully read, watch Downton Abbey right from the start (never watched it!) and admire people's cats.

Happy to report the NHS have been very efficient and helpful with me. They sped up my care by Wes Streeting me to a private consultant. I feel conflicted about this as I don't believe really that it cuts queues. But if it stops me presenting at A and E approximately once a month that will ease pressure elsewhere in the system.

Is it keyhole? I've had it, was really no biggie and I felt better not having gallbladder attacks.

I can't eat buttery things now without indigestion though but small price to pay. Good luck Flowers

Shock
Piggywaspushed · 13/09/2024 21:16

Yes, keyhole.

Hopefully will do the trick. I hate buttery stuff anyway.

newnamethanks · 13/09/2024 22:18

I had a post deleted for its "passive aggressive tone". It was like being back in 6th form. I was surprised to not receive a detention and lines as well.

newnamethanks · 13/09/2024 22:30

Good luck piggy, feel better soon.

itsgettingweird · 14/09/2024 07:42

Good luck piggy

I've never been banned either. Had a few deletions but always hilariously for nothing compared to things that Ive said that have been allowed to stand 😂

James O'Brien gets a call from 'Colin in Portsmouth'.

A former immigration minister has said he "regrets" the former Conservative government's Stop The Boats rhetoric which he believes was used to inflame this summer's riots.

I have definitely been targeted by certain posters in the past and been suspended because of them. I choose my words carefully now too and haven't been deleted very often since doing so.

you seem to be targeted again

I've been deleted several times, mostly for obvious troll hunting. I try to avoid doing that these days, although don't always succeed!

I've been banned once, which made me absolutely furious. MN had decided to partner with a company that was launching a 'breastfeeding biscuit', which had no more helpful nutrition than a straightforward digestive. In the thread, started by someone from MNHQ, I posted 'what the actual fuck do you think you're doing, MNHQ?' or words to that effect. And that got me not just deleted but also banned for a PA. All of which was rather awkward because that very day I was kicking off a new Bootcamp!

CassieMaddox · 14/09/2024 10:37

That thread is crazy Confused

BIWI - "breastfeeding biscuit"?? Shock I'm glad I don't have babies any more, the marketing is/was so crazy

BIWI · 14/09/2024 10:38

What made me especially mad was that the email I got 'Mumsnet calling' was evidently a copy & paste job, as it said something along the lines of 'we've had to warn you several times', which was patently untrue.
