Gorgeous sunflower!

Talking of frenzied speculation, there is some of that on a thread about Starmer not naming his children.

Nasty one that, I have reported quite a bit and surprised is allowed to stand.

He's not disclosed the name of the new kitten yet either - the bastard!

There is a crowdfund for that case

Shrug.

wasted money, unless you are a fan of nice legal verdicts.

No doubt when these loonytunes get to the end and the ECHR says something like "non", the Telegraph will have had the old record polished and be back to leaving the evils of human rights.

I have too. I am surprised it hasn't been zapped yet. MNHQ has deleted similar threads.

I'm so sick of it. Culture wars/conspiracy theory bollocks. Leave his children out of it.

Has he paid cat tax yet?

Zonder · 08/09/2024 11:10

Not in here he hasn't!

No he hasn't!!! double-bastard!

I've had to walk away from the prisons thread. It really annoys me that facts can be ignored while people stick to sprouting vague rumours from the Daily Fail. The modus operandi of the last government continues.

DuncinToffee · 08/09/2024 11:13

Keir Starmer tells @ bbclaurak the family’s new Siberian kitten is called Prince.

PM doesn’t reveal whether the cat is named after an HRH, The Artist Formerly Known As or, given Prince is a classic German Shepherd name, the Starmer family dog that never was…

It is out there is real life too. DH and I got chatting to a seemingly perfectly decent chap about music. We then somehow got into politics and immigration. He came out with every Daily Mail line in the book. So depressing.

That thread is a new level of scrapping tne barrel. Man in public office wants minimise the media exposure his children get - i simply have no idea how anyone could have a problem with that.

Efacsen · 08/09/2024 11:16

Thank goodness for that @DuncinToffee - some honesty at least

Gorgeous sunflower
My tomatoes are still green due to the shocking lack of sun this year. Really annoying cos I have some huge beefsteak ones but they just aren't ripening

Green tomato chutney is really easy to make and delicious.

Dan Neidle

This legal challenge is doomed. Nobody has ever overturned a tax in the UK courts or ECHR using on human rights arguments. Not once.

He ends with

(It's also premature; you can't challenge a law that doesn't exist, and it will be a few months until Royal Assent. So perhaps this is just a PR move?)

A lot depends on the goal really. Scrapping a yet to be decided is clearly not it. So what's the reality ? First guess is a simple way to rinse some gullible parents of a few quid by tapping into the one resource in the universe that genuine appears infinite. And that is outraged indignation.

The replies from non tax lawyers telling him where he has misunderstood the law are always fun.

We had years of the recent Tory governments spouting lies and talking over anyone who tries to counter them with facts. This is alive and well on MN, be it DA perpetrators being released, VAT on private schools or just about anything to do with Starmer. This normalisation of promoting rumours and lies is a terrible thing.

TooBigForMyBoots · 08/09/2024 14:09

Thanks for the thread. Here's my tax. It's in trees because I don't have pets.

The horrible Keir Starmer's children's name thread is still standing after hours and hours and the OP flouncing - MNHQ clearly aware of it as a swiftly deleting posts
