Jet lag plus mosquito bites driving me crazy. Got back from the US yesterday late morning. Am being tortured by my 48 bites, the itching woke me up. Damn s’mores round the firepit on the last night of hols.

Now I’m in an oatmeal bath fully antihistamined up but still SO itchy I can’t sleep.

why are you up? And what’s your top mosquito bite cure <scratches>

@Tranquiltimes make it clear when you meet up that it’s not a date. Maybe plan it for daytime?

Stressybetty · 27/08/2024 07:25

On second bottle of this but not sure it's actually doing anything!
5 in 1 Magnesium Complex amzn.eu/d/eebesuE
Gave in and got up at 6.30. two hours sleep. Managed to nick my nail with my razor last night so that's throbbing and bruising too. 😩

Eurax cream is great, used it on my DD's chicken pox years ago. Currently using it on MIL's legs to reduce her scratching them

@Stressybetty ouch 😩

BaronessOrczy · 27/08/2024 08:32

Managed to get another couple of hours - dropped off about 6am. Now feel ghastly.

Will away to the chemist and see if I can get all the aforementioned creams and tablets. The usual ones aren’t doing the trick.

hope everyone has a day better than their night!

@BaronessOrczy

Thank you. Managed to sleep again and back up now, normal time

SecondFavouriteDinosaur · 27/08/2024 09:02

I didn’t actually make it to sleep at all. It’s going to be a long day.

abracadabra1980 · 27/08/2024 10:12

Didn't see the thread earlier but I was awake at 4.30am for the loo as usual. Was delighted as I had a whole 3 hours of peace to listen to podcasts before my puppy wakes the whole household! Nanna nap for me this afternoon.

abracadabra1980 · 27/08/2024 10:15

All you posters in bed - do you get pain when scrolling? It absolutely kills me. Like a nerve pain. Sorry OP not trying to derail. If anyone has any suggestions on how to heal this I'd be grateful-tried everything and everyone both NHS and privately. Please DM me as I'm desperate!

You talking about fingers or elsewhere? (and laptop or phone?)

Wavescrashingonthebeach · 27/08/2024 12:44

How is everyone feeling now? I've had too much caffeine to nap. But too tired to get anything done :( motivation is at rock bottom feel like a rubbish Mum and I don't want DP to come home to a tip after he's cycled home from a 12 hour shift

Elleherd · 27/08/2024 15:28

TBH I'm reasonably used to it. I'm disabled and it goes with the territory.
Gave up trying to sleep, got carer to come early and get me all set up - had plans to utilize the extra hours - so it seems did the vehicle!
I'm absolutely filthy from dealing with it, and have had to get carer back to have a bath, and am starting my day again almost 12 hours later!

wavescrashingonthebeach Insane as this may sound, motivation often follows action, not the other way round. Good luck.

Wavescrashingonthebeach · 27/08/2024 15:35

@Elleherd thank you- I've done a bit, not as much as I'd like to but going to cut myself some slack.
Sounds like a bit of a nightmare hope the rest of your day is better!

Elleherd · 27/08/2024 15:46

Thanks. Best actually go do it! 😂

CalicoPusscat · 27/08/2024 17:16

I was at uni all morning, got back 1pm. Very tired now but it's been a really good day.

Any joy @BaronessOrczy?

BaronessOrczy · 27/08/2024 19:19

I am tired and scratchy and itchy and have just made myself the biggest bowl of dal ever as comfort food. I’m thinking if I can be in bed by 8.30 I might actually do some good sleeping but I’ve basically been operating since lunchtime on empty. It’s like I’m drunk. It’s as if you’ve had three large glasses of wine and you need to make a decision on opening a new bottle versus being sensible and going home…

how’s everyone else doing?
