No.

According to Colgate, it is safe for teeth (if plain)....

"Plain sparkling water has a pH of around 5 or higher, so it won’t damage teeth. When flavor is added, it becomes more acidic. Lemon flavored sparkling water for instance has a pH level of 3 which means it could erode your enamel and damage your teeth."

No!

Moonshine5 · 25/08/2024 20:41

Hate the taste but brilliant for washing a dogs face and neck with after they have rolled in fox poo! Just add a drop of Fairy washing up liquid and the fizziness lifts the dirt from the hair! Magic stuff!!

Thanks for this tip remembering for next time this inevitably happens.

Anjelika · 25/08/2024 20:42

Love it and it's really the only water I drink.

louderthan · 25/08/2024 20:43

Love it!

LesserSpottedAlligator · 25/08/2024 20:45

Yes, mixed with Elderflower Cordial, it's all I drink.

Thighdentitycrisis · 25/08/2024 20:47

Love it, no longer drink 2l a day though

SmugglersHaunt · 25/08/2024 20:48

Love it

BatFugger · 25/08/2024 20:49

Love it. I can’t drink still water so sparkling all the way.

Horrible. Not thirst quenching either.

Just googled this and apparently active people drink it because the CO2 helps the body absorb fluids better?!

I love it because I just like cold fizzy things.

I didn’t use to but I’ve become a convert, I’ve only ever had San Pellegrino though. No idea if they taste wildly different brand to brand?

They don't taste wildly different but there are definite differences, particularly when comparing the more expensive mineral waters rather than just the cheap ones which are all pretty much just tap water that's been carbonated. San Pellegrino's good but try a bottle of, say, Perrier or Badoit (if you can find it) for comparison.

KATHSTYLE · 25/08/2024 20:51

YES! I don't drink (alcohol) and it's my go-to.

I think I may owe it to myself to try Perrier 🧐

ETA - Ocado sells Badoit.

MellersSmellers · 25/08/2024 20:56

Yes. Like it so much j now use my Sodastream to make it from tap water!

BargingOnBy · 25/08/2024 20:57

theduchessofspork · 25/08/2024 20:33

I thought that was a MYTH ?!

Unfortunately not. Ask my dentist

TonTonMacoute · 25/08/2024 20:58

I like it sometimes.

I don't buy fizzy water, I sodastream it.

BashfulClam · 25/08/2024 21:00

It tastes like tv static, yuck!

Drinkandthink · 25/08/2024 21:00

I love it! I prefer everything fizzy. Tap water is so dull. And leaves a funny taste in my mouth (wherever its from).

Pedallleur · 25/08/2024 21:00

San Pellegrino with ice and lemon or lime. Not seen Badoit for ages. Mustn't be posh enough where I live.

bringincrazyback · 25/08/2024 21:02

Only if it's flavoured. I had enough Sprudelwasser the year I lived in Germany to sink a battleship, and never really managed to warm to it.

RVEllacott · 25/08/2024 21:07

Yes. I don't normally buy bottled water but used to choose it when I needed an alcohol free drink in a pub when pregnant.

HowardTJMoon · 25/08/2024 21:09

I drink a lot more tap water than anything else but a good sparkling water makes a nice change.

Firsttimetrier · 25/08/2024 21:21

Me and my 2yo love it. Was a saviour during pregnancy sickness.
