It has happened… I’ve been asked what I wanted for Christmas, whilst a loved one was visiting today.

So what do YOU want for Christmas?

Just a pair of trainers I’ve had my eye on for a while but haven’t been able to justify it as dd11 went up a size so had to buy her new ones.

Doubledded123 · 18/08/2024 22:41

A home gym.

2AND2GC · 18/08/2024 22:25

Where do you go, eggandchip?

I went to dubai last year.
Im going to australia this year.

I did go to barcelona 2 year ago for a short break just to avoid being birthing partner for my sister lol.

To finish work on the 20th December and not go back until the 6th of Jan.

I've already booked this. I normally use annual leave to add to the time we're closed over Christmas so I finish work on 23rd December and go back on 3rd January but this year it would mean finishing on Monday 23rd and going back on Friday 3rd Jan so I've thought sod it and taken two full weeks off.

@HowIrresponsible I hope you get that, early!

I’d like some Le Creuset. Some good quality tea leaves. And new sheepskin slippers. The kids all have them but I just get myself cheapo things.

Ooo! In what colour?

I've started a list on my phone for when people ask me...

I would like:
A retractable fountain pen
Books on wild food foraging
A good bracelet to replace the one that wore through a few months ago (I know I won't get that one)
Some good new secateurs (that DH will NOT be allowed to use/lose/misuse)
Some sleep time honey from Just Bee
Some Lego flowers
A book on modem herbal medicine
An XXL microfibre towel
A Little Jax backrest pillow
a good saute pan
Audible credits!

MaitlandGirl · 19/08/2024 01:29

Someone else to do all the mental work for Christmas as well as all the actual work, but they have to do things exactly how I do so I know it’s been done right.

Basically I’ve created a monster and it’s all my fault!

PoodlesRUs · 19/08/2024 10:13

How honest are we being?

Honest but fantastical:
Ember2 mug
Moleskine smart writing set

Possible but nobody will get me them (because in their opinion they're daft):
Ice skates
Buck and Birch liquers

More likely:
Donations to charities I support
A half-bot of champagne I like

I would LOVE one of those massive pregnancy pillows (I'm not pregnant, just fat).

I really struggle getting comfy due to my disability, so that would be a godsend.

I would try and get a BBHugme if possible. If it’s too expensive, maybe ask a couple of people to chip in if that’s an option.

@Rowansiskin there is a jigsaw of Lincoln cathedral on vinted for sale at the moment 🙂

Andnowshesatoddler · 19/08/2024 10:42

Some money for a good wardrobe revamp wondering round my favourite city coffee in hand before a lovely lunch that feels long and slow and mellow before I drive home and somehow all the other traffic has disappeared when I get home I would like my child to be all fed and in bed and my husband to tell me he's off out for an hour or two I'll turn the Christmas tree lights on pour a glass of something and not talk just listen to some lovely music
That's what I am aiming to gift myself!

Not sure what I want from my DH yet. I saw a stunning ring at Ernest Jones so maybe I'll be dropping hints for that!

@YellowphantGrey
That's a brilliant idea. I shall look into to it.

FusionChefGeoff · 19/08/2024 18:50

Aromatherapy Associates bath oil - disgustingly expensive and lasts 6 months used sparingly
New fancy backpack / large tote
Spa / massage vouchers
Scented candles

StoatofDisarray · 19/08/2024 18:57

A Dyson air wrap thing. Are they any good?

NetballHoop · 19/08/2024 19:06
  1. Book vouchers. PLEASE do not buy me books. I need to choose them myself.

  2. A meal for both of us and all our DCs and their partners. I know this is a bit cheeky but I'd really like it as it happens so rarely.

Other than those, I don't really need anything that I wouldn't just buy myself anyway.

I think it depends on your hair texture/thickness. I love mine but can take a looong time to dry. The style I choose usually stays because my hair is quite thick. Whenever I’ve used it on my sister who has very silky, fine hair it drops out instantly, although it stays very smooth.

Nsky62 · 19/08/2024 21:40
