If we suddenly had to go into a 3 month lockdown again, how would you feel?

I think people would definitely comply. If it was Mpox I would want a smallpox vaccine as it's somewhat effective.

Oh FFS no! No more lockdowns ever! They nearly wrecked the country.

NO NO NO!

EVERYone needs to refuse of course!

I don't think it will happen.

For the people that loved lockdowns, and would welcome another... why not just live life that way anyway, and let the people who did not share your lockdown experience go on and live theirs...

I hated it, but they are necessary to save lives, so I do the right thing.
Only doing what you enjoy to the extent that it causes the deaths of others is the mindset of a sociopath.

Mpox virus can spread to anyone through contact with objects, fabrics, and surfaces that have not been disinfected after use by someone with mpox. This includes items like clothing, bedding, towels,…

It will be spreading at train stations on the ticket screens

shittestusernameever · 15/08/2024 23:44

I didn't lockdown the first time, and I certainly wouldn't if they brought another one in.

Selfish? Perhaps, but I don't care.

DappledThings · 15/08/2024 23:44

I wouldn't mind. Would do it with a bit of an eyeroll same as last time.

spuddy4 · 15/08/2024 23:44

I don't think I could handle another lockdown. Working in retail nearly broke me the last time and I know a lot of my staff would agree.

Lockdown = great, few things would make me happier. I'm not wearing a bloody mask again though.

Plane seats too no doubt.

Differentstarts · 15/08/2024 23:45

I would love it. I miss lockdown

TheWrongBus · 15/08/2024 23:45

I’d bet a hefty sum that all you Billy Big Bollocks, claiming you’d never lock down, would be barricading yourselves in your homes sharpish if you ran into someone looking like this and sneezing at you in your local Tesco!

Poor man…

I actually liked wearing a mask not having to do my makeup saved me loads of time

EmbarrassingMother · 15/08/2024 23:48

I wouldn’t. And I’d be sending my children to school as well.

I can’t go through lock down again.

This has been brewing for months in Rwanda and it was kept quiet because of the Tory Rwanda scheme. If the governments cared about us, they would have done something to reduce rate of infection at the start of the year.

Oh I would, but the bastards at school and university insist that we go in.

So in we go.

I pretty much do, but unfortunately, it doesn't matter how much I restrict visits to public places, when I have to go, they are still invariably chock full of ignorant sods who pay no respect to other people's personal space, cough and snotter everywhere, play music over phones in constricted spaces etc.

It was far less populous during lockdown, so this sort of behaviour was minimal, and trips to public spaces were correspondingly far less unpleasant.

RheaRend · 15/08/2024 23:49

I'd love it - no peopling, quiet evenings, 40 hour weeks not 100 hour weeks at work....a much easier way of life. Perfect!

NeverMindTheBackProblems · 15/08/2024 23:49

I would. Even more so if others aren't.

SpiritAdder · 15/08/2024 23:49

There is a vaccine..you’d think the U.K. Gov would get off it’s ass and approve it.

Clingfilm · 15/08/2024 23:49

Marseillaise · 15/08/2024 23:37

Would you see them even though you knew it would put their lives in danger?

Yes, the isolation affected them too so they'd be happy to take their chances now aged 75+. I'd visit their garden at least. Wasn't allowed last time. Mad looking back.

Alalalalalongalalalalalonglonglilong · 15/08/2024 23:50

I'd be devastated if we had to lock down again. But i would comply. We only have one experience of the covid pandemic, we know the vast negative consequences of a lock down. We don't know the negative consequence of a failure to lock down. Who knows how many more of us would be dead or seriously ill if we had just carried on. I think some people still don't get how serious the threat was. There was a reason every leader in the world agreed to lockdown, I don't think there has ever been such unity on any issue in the past.

Whynottrythis · 15/08/2024 23:50

I would comply depending on the disease. I actually quite enjoyed lock down previously but with a preschooler now I would dread the very idea! And obviously don't want to put them at risk.

I don't think the government would ask it of us again unless the risk was very high.

Mespher · 15/08/2024 23:50

So what about the people that work at the likes of Tesco and Amazon, they would still have to work, keeping the country supplied while we are keeping ourselves safe.

Would everyone stay at home, locked down, the NHS, I think not.

Wtafdidido · 15/08/2024 23:50

I would be delighted as would my kids

I wouldn’t stop seeing my relatives, especially the ones who live alone, like I stupidly did last time, I regret that so much looking back.
