Finland to Host Two NATO Headquarters
Finland is set to house two NATO headquarters, according to a report by Yle. One headquarters for NATO's ground forces in Northern Europe is expected to be located in Mikkeli, near Finland's border with Russia. The second, for advanced ground forces, will be situated either in SodankylΓ€ or Rovaniemi in the northern part of the country. The final decision on the locations will be made soon.
Sweden has expressed readiness to command one of the headquarters in Finland, as confirmed by the defense ministers of both countries. President Alexander Stubb emphasized that NATOβs decisions on headquarters placement are driven by military strategy rather than regional political concerns.
Additionally, Finland is preparing to station a NATO armored brigade of 4,000-5,000 soldiers in Mikkeli, part of efforts to deter external threats, as previously reported by Iltalehti.
Ukraine participated in NATOβs annual C-UAS TIE (Counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems Technical Interoperability Exercise) for the first time. This significant event included over 450 participants from 19 NATO member states, along with representatives from three partner countries.
UN Warns of Major Power Outages in Ukraine This Winter
The UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine (HRMMU) has warned that Ukraine could experience power outages lasting between 4 to 18 hours per day during the winter. These outages threaten essential services, including water supply, sewerage, sanitation, heating, and hot water, with significant impacts on public health, education, and the economy.
The report highlights nine waves of attacks between March and August 2024 that have disrupted Ukraineβs infrastructure.

Indiaβs export regulations typically restrict weapons to their designated buyers, with unauthorized transfers risking future sales. Despite this, India has not intervened, and the Kremlin has raised concerns during meetings with Indian officials, including a discussion between Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov and his Indian counterpart in July.
Indian officials have stated that they do not export directly to Ukraine and have emphasized that the amount of ammunition involved is minimal, less than 1% of Ukraineβs total imports
Finland Plans to Confiscate Helsinki Hall from Russian Oligarchs
