PW and BG - same chin (and scary teeth).

I think it looks great, I think he's on the way to growing a full beard which will really suit him. Men with hair loss always look better with a beard.
In my opinion every man looks better with a beard, but then I do come from a family where I never saw my father without a beard and every man in the immediate and extended family grows a beard from the age of about 20 and keeps it thereafter.

I think most women look better with long hair, and most men look better with beards.

(I'm an equal opportunities critic of looks, see.)

I just think it's a cultural norm that men wander around looking like potatoes, whereas women put the effort in. And most people benefit from a bit of tactical use of hair.

I think he looks good!

KatyaKabanova · 12/08/2024 06:48

I don't like beards I think they look dirty and the man looks messy. A lot of women look great with short hair but nowadays that's quite radical.
I think William looks good, though. He's getting more handsome with age.

MushMonster · 12/08/2024 06:53

I think it is the beginning of a beard, more than stable.
It suits him.

TroysMammy · 12/08/2024 06:58

With it he looks a bit like Kate's brother James. Just hope William doesn't look like his own brother.

OutwiththeOutCrowd · 12/08/2024 07:00

Prince William had a few 'boring brother' years but a beard is certainly putting him back in the running.

But what I really want to know is why W and K are so obsessed with sport? They are always up for a sport-related moment. That seems to be what really stirs them.

(It may just be a mystery to someone who is decidedly un-obsessed with sport like me.)

intothedark5 · 12/08/2024 07:01

Big yay,

He looks hot, the tan helps too.

renthead · 12/08/2024 07:02

Looks great. I think William is aging really well. He was a gorgeous teen and young man of course, but then sort of went off the boil. But in the past couple of years he is growing into his looks again. His style has also improved a lot! He looks good in the sunglasses/jacket/open collar shirt look.

The Queen would not have approved.

Observations may vary.

KatyaKabanova · 12/08/2024 07:14

He's obviously very fit plus I think the last few years have tested him and he looks a bit more steely.

TubeScreamer · 12/08/2024 07:23

I’m not generally a fan of beards or stubble but it does actually suit him.

as I will never have to kiss him, it’s not a problem for me.

TheFluffyTwo · 12/08/2024 09:19

Oh yes, absolutely, this is what's been missing!

Handsome again...!

Reallybadidea · 12/08/2024 09:23

Bald men have a tendency to look like an egg if they don't have some facial hair so I say yes.

Itsjustmeheretoday · 12/08/2024 09:26

He's improved, but hot is going too far. For those who think he's hot are you also factoring in the millions as part of this assessment? 😁

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 12/08/2024 09:53

No, if he wanted to do that, he would wear one of these...

I think it really suits him. I'm sure he'll be delighted that I approve😅

That's a good point.

The Queen would not have approved.

And that's fine. Not many of us dress for our grandparents' approval.

They're all looking more modern and better for it since they've had more choice in that respect IMO.

OutwiththeOutCrowd · 12/08/2024 12:52

W and K are reminding me more and more of Mr Grace in the ancient sitcom Are You Being Served. Mr Grace used to dodder in at the end to say 'You've All Done Very Well!' to the shop workers and that was his prime contribution to proceedings.

KatyaKabanova · 12/08/2024 12:54

I think Young Mr Grace had spent years building up the business and working hard, @OutwiththeOutCrowd - I think I would give someone in their 80s a bit of a pass!

Nonda · 12/08/2024 12:59

Yay too (though I don’t fancy him!) He looks more relaxed and natural and he is on holiday. Not sure if it is quite right for the working royal formal engagements but sure he is planning to shave before then!! But I am a bit old-fashioned like that.

OutwiththeOutCrowd · 12/08/2024 13:03

KatyaKabanova I think he was quite good for shop floor morale, actually. There must be many of us who, having had the experience of working without thanks, would have appreciated him!

Indeed! He was always so very charming with it 😁?

Why shouldn't he have a beard when doing formal engagements?! It was good enough for George V so why should William need to be clean shaven?

George V was in the Navy. They're allowed a full set. Army and Royal Air Force, moustache only. I believe William served in the last two, rather than the Navy. Hence the entitlement. Funny thing, really! Must be some reason back in day.
