What can you hear right now?

I'm trying to concentrate and finish off a report to send tonight but all I can do is try not to laugh as I can hear the DCs having a 'song off' on the piano and the keyboard in the music room.
One is playing Keane 'Somewhere Only We Know' and the other is bashing out Snow Patrol's 'Chasing Cars' 🙉

What can you currently hear?

I've now muted the TV during a break and I can hear the sea and seagulls. I'm about half a kilometre inland right now.

FindingMeno · 12/08/2024 02:44

My breathing and the clock ticking.

IntelligentInputDarling · 12/08/2024 07:12

@Kornvallmo @Meadowwild
You're both welcome too 😅
The Keane song is absolutely one of my favourites but Chasing Cars has significance in family lore as it was the only thing that would stop youngest DC now 11, crying when he was a baby. It was like a charm, worked EVERY time!
Lovely to hear them just playing on the instruments, they're quite good in that they're just able to pick up anything.
I'm about as unmusical as you can get!

There's absolute silence here right now, my favourite time of day.
It will be full of the sounds of happy shrieking children later as cousins are coming to spend the day in the pool due to the scorchio forecast! ☀️ ⛱️

The dish washer and the kids bickering about a game of top trumps.

Deipara · 12/08/2024 07:15

The ceiling fan and my husband snoring.

Igneococcus · 12/08/2024 07:26

Thunder, also seagulls and strong wind.

BeachRide · 12/08/2024 07:28

An irritating magpie 'ack-ack-ackking' at a squirrel. Nursery rhymes on YouTube. Tinnitus in my left ear. Seagulls in the distance.

Have a great day, everyone 😀

CrepuscularCritter · 12/08/2024 07:30

At the moment, absolutely nothing. The city is still asleep.

SprinkleOfSunak · 12/08/2024 07:38

My freezer buzzing so, so loudly like it spends a great deal of time doing everyday!

ssd · 12/08/2024 07:42

Dh snoring. Me sneezing. My mind whirring, wondering how to help ds.

UpUpUpU · 12/08/2024 07:51

The news in TV and my son watching something in the other room

MissCalamity · 12/08/2024 07:59

Lawn mower & DP snoring. 😒
On holiday though, so just scrolling through my phone & not rushing about on a normal Monday morning.

MeYouAndAQuestion · 12/08/2024 09:17

Very little. A distant car and that about it.

The crows were being rowdy earlier but are quiet now.

fussychica · 12/08/2024 09:38

Sitting in the garden with a coffee, thankfully can't hear anything.

Gymmum82 · 12/08/2024 09:38

HoppityBun · 11/08/2024 18:51

Tinnitus

Same

mommybear1 · 12/08/2024 10:50

Thunder and rain despite the forecast 😔

Puw · 12/08/2024 10:50

The wind and the rain smashing against the window and the ridiculously long training video I’m watching

Moier · 12/08/2024 10:56

Birds tweeting.
I'm in a log cabin in the Snowdonia mountains for a break.

IntelligentInputDarling · 19/08/2024 10:08

Right now I can hear the washing machine gearing up for the final spin, the shower is on upstairs and the radio faintly away in the kitchen.

Currently listening to the man making Wilfs assisted travel booking on the phone. Also the microwave cooking apples and Mum peeling apples too.

Tarkan · 19/08/2024 11:28

My friend's 2 year old son playing with toys in front of me. Bluey is on the TV (tbh I'm watching it not him 🤣). And someone outside somewhere is using a big noisy saw which is very annoying.

Bobbotgegrinch · 19/08/2024 11:33

Faint traffic noise, and the cat meowing to come in (she can wait though, the little shit).

The gang of kids who seem to live outside seem to have vanished today, so it's quite peaceful, but I'm sure the neighbours teenager will be up soon to hurl racist abuse at whoever he's playing Call of Duty against.

halfpasteleven · 19/08/2024 23:28

Heavy rain on the bedroom window and my 5 year old DD breathing softly beside me..

Dr13Hadley · 20/08/2024 16:51

In Spain. It's ten to six and it's about 32 degrees C. DH has just put the aircon on.
He's on the phone to his dad.

Kids are playing in the pool so I can hear the occasional shriek and massive splash. I'm loafing on the bed mustering up the energy to get dressed to go out for dinner with BIL and his family near the sea. Looking forward to hearing the waves!

Ratfinkstinkypink · 20/08/2024 17:50

Moon and Me on TV while I feed my little one.

His stridor.
