How dare Waxy Lemon bleat that his children were frightened when his moronic army were terrorising children in hotels by setting fire to where they were, young children were looking out the windows at this... terrified. And some asylum seekers had to sleep in the woods rather than try and get in to their hotel where they were living

I hope justice catches up with him. .

Apparently the reason no one will take the case that he forgets to mention is he isn't willing to pay. Presumably no win no fee lawyers have to have at least a 1% chance of winning ?

Oh dear, TwoNames, what reason could there be to explain why you can't find legal representation? Is there just a faint possibility that you haven't got a defence in law? Seems likely.

I think it is the realization that the society that they would claim to protect does not exist. Likewise saying what you like on the internet. A lot of people do not realize that it’s not like getting your say down the pub because the impact, where it is distributed again and again, magnifies and becomes greater.

Tbh if many of these racists had just kept this in the pub via commentary the law would struggle to touch them. Tech is clearly making the evidence and the impact much easier to prove.

Excellent point

Apparently there's anti racism marches in Whitehall?

Apart from some people near Big Ben (at 1pm - not sure what they were protesting about) ds and I have been all round south bank and up to Buckingham palace today and managed to see nothing of it 😂

SerendipityJane · 10/08/2024 18:14

Apparently there's anti racism marches in Whitehall?

Quite ironic, given it's name ...

Apparently started at reform HQ.

I doubt they would have noticed. It's Saturday. They were probably at the pub drinking proper British pints and complaining about the wokery that bans them from smoking indoors.

bombastix · 10/08/2024 19:23

I fully adhere to the smoking ban; but I have to confess I miss the old smoking pubs.

Is DS still not well?

@DuncinToffee
Sorry for very delayed reply to your kind enquiry. I've brought Dc away (2 hrs from home) to a holiday lodge with a pool for a 3 day minibreak before schools back next week. Ds exhausted. Just sitting in the pool for an hour = going back & sleeping for 5. Still having chest twinges so he's quite scared re that. His cholesterol is really high so good locum GP contacted Cardiologist (due to discharge us at appt on 28th). I'm going to have to try to get info from a different medical source as a. He's simply scared still. b. he was going to start Uni on 8th September. I can't see that happening now: he's so exhausted.

cardibach · 11/08/2024 10:19

Sorry it still not resolved @medianewbie Must be a real worry.

DuncinToffee · 11/08/2024 10:30

Notonthestairs · 11/08/2024 11:48

Oh I am so sorry to read that medianewbie. I am not surprised he is scared. Can he really be discharged when he is clearly still unwell. I hope that the time away does you both some good.

BIossomtoes · 11/08/2024 11:51

It sounds really scary @medianewbie. I really hope things improve soon.

itsgettingweird · 11/08/2024 12:16

RobinStrike · 11/08/2024 12:49

@medianewbie I'm so sorry to hear your DS is still feeling so poorly. It will be such a worry for you all. Do try to find some time try to destress. I found listening to meditation and breathing recordings/podcasts before sleep helped.

RobinStrike · 11/08/2024 12:55

The current DPP on Times Radio this morning commenting that the later sentencing will likely be longer sentences. In 2011 the riots were mostly against property and looting, burglary and theft were the charges. This time the attacks were on people, the police and hostels with people inside. If they are charged with trying to burn down the hostels this will be attempted murder.
