Mark Rowley has commented that of the most violent offenders (sorry, 'protestors) in recent riots 70% were already known to police.

Which seems an extraordinary per centage given some on MN are still pretending that these were ordinary citizens forced into extreme behaviour by the failures of the political system.

Fascinating reading the new iteration of complaints against Starmer - rioters dealt with too quickly and disorder and violence taken too seriously.

Watching the news at 10 tonight and I am really struck by the lack of political big names. We hear about how rioters are being dealt with but no Tory cabinet members trying to point score or launch some new crazy idea.

I hadn't realised how much of our news time was getting taken up with various politicians ranting. Today there was some tiny side story about Shapps and the boats as posted above but that's it. I'm enjoying the reprieve.

I think the remaining Tory names we know are busy plotting and stabbing each other in the back over who can be the most unpleasant and most right wing candidates for Leader. Because, they tell us, that's what people want. Or they may be reconsidering😳

Just reading the comments under the article about the bin woman on the DM website. Mind boggling.
Some are commiserating that drug dealers haven’t been punished as severely as the poor rioters. Fail to recognise they probably were drug dealers 🙄

I’ve been out at Billy Joel’s only European gig this tour tonight. In Cardiff. Awesome. Loads of people having a sing along and getting on famously. Lovely taxi driver home too. Proper tonic.

She was re arrested yesterday and has been charged. Appearing in court today apparently via video link.

I saw that he arrived in Cardiff by train @cardibach. I was very envious. Friends at the gig said is was amazing.
I was a bit worried as DD’s office is near Cardiff Central and they were all told to WFH yesterday because of potential gatherings.
