Unless the 52pc disagree with Farage...

That Labour Councillor is in Court for encouraging violent disorder.

Yes this is good. But what worried me was the CHEER he got from the crowd.

Maybe they misheard ?

Or, more worryingly, a lot of them forgot they were in "real like" not some stupid film at the cinema.

SerendipityJane · 09/08/2024 15:52

I notice the "Where's Keir" wallies (see what I did there ?) have gone quiet.

Maybe because it's almost one of these stories an hour now ...

Are we still allowed to call stupid people stupid ? And the thick, thick ?

Also 2 of the counter protesters who assaulted a man have been jailed. Ethnic minority counter protesters/rioters.

People will still claim this 2 tier shite. 🙄

newnamethanks · 09/08/2024 15:56

Agreed bombastix and no serendipity, I dont think they misheard. I saw a couple of frowns but his colleague was positively grinning with glee. Very distasteful to say the least. Disgusting in fact.

I really can't magic up any concern. Harm, threaten, intimidate, assault - whoever and whatever you are, you can suffer the laws sweet mercy, my distinct unfriend.

SerendipityJane · 09/08/2024 16:02

Incidentally, none of this is really "new" to me. I can remember the Brixton and Toxteth riots, plus the ones you won't read about. And Broadwater farm. I've heard a tube driver say "we won't be stopping here because of the disturbances at street level ...."

newnamethanks · 09/08/2024 16:18

Do you remember when the 'outdated and unnecessary' Riot Act was abolished as life had been reasonably peaceful for so long? I think that was by Thatcher's bunch shortly before Broadwater Farm?

18th July 1973 according to Wikipedia?

Yes. Agree. She should have called him out on it.

Tiny bit before my time ...

newnamethanks · 09/08/2024 16:35

Thanks Efacsen. Age doing me no favours. Apologies for misinformation.

Then there's the mother of the two sons... both jailed. "They're good boys really. They just got carried away. What am I going to do without them... they've not done this before but the riots were close"
One assaulted an emergency worker and stole from the hub library, the younger one blames his brother who woke him up at 11pm saying 'let's go looting'.

The older one has 16 previous convictions for 29 offences including assault, and has been in prison before.

'They just got carried away'

Pathetic.

bombastix · 09/08/2024 17:06

Stacy Vint, star of the Mixed Binfire Curling who pushed a wheelie bin on fire towards the police but omitted to let go ensuring that she fell flat on her face, neatly into the bin, in front of the police receives 20 months.

What a total idiot

Yes I saw that yesterday.

"He's never done anything like this before - except all the times he's been convicted previously" 🤦‍♀️

LlynTegid · 09/08/2024 17:36

That is Grant Shapps' opinion, what is Michael Green's?

Half of them were pissed up, I reckon. Worst hangover ever for Stacey.

“They’re good boys really” was what Violet Kray used to say I seem to recall.
