I've spoken before about how diverse the population is in Glasgow: ds' primary school was over 60% English as an Additional Language and actually the closest primary school which isn't our catchment one
iirc is 98% EAL
, majority Muslim but also Hindus, Sikhs (Scotland's largest gudwara is less than a mile away); 55 languages spoken at his secondary school, again with a large Muslim population. Highly mixed demographics: secondary catchment has some of Scotland's poorest areas (SIMD 1 & 2 - Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation), yet also includes lovely leafy neighbourhoods (like where we live).
The BNP have already been chased off once when they tried - unsuccessfully - to create division in this multicultural neighbourhood on the back of a horrific racist murder. The murdered boy's own mother told the racists that they weren't welcome.
So Yaxley-Lennon can go take a running jump in his attempts to preach his toxic message at his planned "protest" on 7 September in Glasgow.
