How do children who are asylum seekers, refugees or immigrants just forget their mates out protesting about their very existence in the uk?

Yeah I think there’s a level of cognitive dissonance going on. I’ve also heard some younger people don’t even know /care what it’s about really and have just joined in ‘for a laugh”

BestIsWest · 04/08/2024 21:23

DD was born to the sound of Chris Isaak. DH brought the wrong cassette tape in from the car. I’m very jealous - I tried to get tickets but the only ones left were eye- wateringly expensive.

Poor Stephen. The daily Mail have ruined his holiday.

Oh the irony - he's bleating on about his kids feeling scared in their hotel - but his foot soldiers are burning hotels with people inside, smashing the windows and making monkey noises - but that okay?

CassieMaddox · 04/08/2024 21:26

I think she means change as in less tolerance for inciting violence. I'm quote curious how the government are going to handle some of the Twitter/TikTok agitators. Farage has gone quiet tho which may be a sign.

These were in no way cheap…I just decided it was once in a lifetime and there are no pockets in shrouds 🤷‍♀️ Most I’ve ever paid for anything and I saw Hamilton in its first month in London and Cabaret with Eddie Redmayne…

I love musical theatre too! Tickets in the pipeline for Hamilton (3rd time) and A Chorus Line, and I recently saw Hadestown and Standing at the Sky’s Edge in London. Standing…is a fabulous show. I hope it gets a tour/another west end run.

Where is "a chorus line" on? I love it. Want to take DSD who is a big musical theatre fan

I’m seeing it in Cardiff in November. I assume it’s a tour - it’s at Th New Theatre and they don’t have their own company.

I'm in Tamworth - my youngest daughters BF was invited to go down by his mates (they are 15/16) - he refused pointing out that he IS an immigrant - so they have been sending him videos of the 'fun' - he's upset - they are young, easily influenced idiots

Oh crikey. He must be devastated that his so called mates wanted to do that.

Oh, the irony! Crying kids - what about taking fucking liberties and cashing in on dead kids?

😂
Yeah of course they went to Spain so he could "spend quality time with his kids". Knob
Interesting the daily mail have outed him tho

I thought that. If the DM’s turned against him he’s fucked.

Interesting they are pointing the finger and calling the rioters his foot soldiers in the article. As if they have nothing to do with it.

Patriots throwing bricks at Filipina nurses here. Hopefully they won’t need those nurses if they get hit in the nads by a flying brick or bitten on the arse.

I love Chorus line. I've seen it locally before.

I love that and 42nd street still have really old fashioned dance moves and have kept their roots.

The only musical I've seen I didn't enjoy 100% was Chicago. Not because I didn't enjoy it - just unusually I preferred the film 😳

Starlight express is coming near me soon. I'd love to book and take ds but it's so hard because we never know that far in advance when and where he'll be competing. And I can't afford to lose all that money!

Thanks that is what I meant. A reset. Changes in laws about what is allowed on social media. sorting life out for the young and deprived. Improving the economy. Basically getting the country back into a decent state.

As a country we will have to decide what side of history we want to be on. I think the side that aren’t racist thugs will prevail.

We went to see Standing at the Sky's Edge yesterday - the end of their West End run. It was truly magnificent. And so prescient Sad
I laughed and cried. And cried a bit more. An amazing piece of theatre.

And we're off to Le Touquet on Thursday for 3 days Me, DH and two of our friends. They're playing golf and I'm just going to chill. Might go with them and walk the course (I gave up playing a while ago after sustaining an injury hacking up the rough!), or I might go to the beach. Or shopping. Or finding somewhere lovely to sit and read Mumsnet my book.

Sounds lovely. Le Touquet conjures up a picture of 1930s glamour to me.

Interesting thread -

6/ If I didn't know better I would say this is a crafted campaign designed to help ReformUK deflect from the right-wing nature of the current violence by trying to reframe it as a Labour failure and Starmer attack on 'White British' values

Is that quite near Calais?

BIWI · 04/08/2024 21:48

Yes it's not too far - just down the coast a bit further south than Boulogne - drive takes about an hour and 20 mins from memory.

Are you Dominic Raab? 😉
