Braverman hasn't got a chance. Reform Ltd is Farage's to control, she will only be leader if he says so, and he'll step in if it suits him, like he did to Tice. That's why she will never go and will just carp from the sidelines like a Tory Rosie Duffield

Imagine being Billy Piper and having to co parent with Mr Fox 😳

she must genuinely have a constant Fox induced headache

Apolloneuro · 04/08/2024 19:18

It’s undeniably true that every single one of the little shits attacking the police would call 999 like a shot if their house was being burgled.

How can people be so thick?

Yes - you're right. I liked the idea of a bit of Reform infighting to upset his little life. Oh well!
Cruella will likely just bide her time in the recesses of the Tory party, waiting like a spider in that dark corner you don't want to look in.

RafaistheKingofClay · 04/08/2024 19:25

What happens to reform if Nige does go to jail? Not that I think he will, just curious.

Edited

Why would he go to jail? For what offence?

If only

Watchdog should investigate Farage’s ‘dangerous comments’, says Liverpool MP

Kim Johnson says comments by Reform leader after the week’s violent disorder ‘cannot be left to fester’

Good. Of course if anyone says that Farage incites disorder, there are going to be posters who claim there's no proof. 😉

There isn’t. I’ve read the article. At no point does he unambiguously encourage people to riot. You can’t criminalise somebody for not being left wing, which seems to be a thinly veiled desire on here.

Rainbowsponge · 04/08/2024 19:35

And to follow that up, if there is incitement then please post verbatim as I’m all ears?

Apolloneuro · 04/08/2024 19:36

Has anyone got anything nice planned for this week? I’m taking a grandson to the theatre.

Well... he may well be investigated by the Commons Standard watchdog and Parliamentary Standards Commissioner so I really don't think he is as innocent as you would like to think

It’s my birthday on Tuesday so we’re going out for a posh dinner. I’ve already checked the menu and there’s a Strawberry Bellini with my name on it. What are you seeing at the theatre?

Saucery · 04/08/2024 19:39

Sounds nice @Apolloneuro , have you taken him before?

You maybe didn't read it very carefully - it's not about 'criminalising' anyone it's about potentially being investigated by the Parliamentary Standards Committee which has no criminal powers

Read it again perhaps?

Strawberry Bellini. Yum.

Aladdin.

Years ago. He’s 14 now so I mostly see the back of his head 😂

They can investigate him but the post specifically said incitement which is a criminal offence. What evidence is there of this?

I can’t bear Farage (I hold a grudge about Brexit). But the only way to win in this is to be clear, factual and watertight.

BIossomtoes · 04/08/2024 19:47

I always associate Aladdin with pantomime.

ilovesooty · 04/08/2024 19:49

I'm going to London for the day tomorrow.

Happy birthday for Tuesday @BIossomtoes

Deardeidree · 04/08/2024 19:49

It’s awful how violent and chaotic Manchester was on Saturday. And to think I was considering going in there for a bit of shopping on Saturday

I’ll be going in on Wednesday instead, to have a coffee at my favourite bookshop, if there are further riots planned it won’t be mid-week/ so soon.

Keir Starmer spoke well against them. I’m glad he didn’t “both sides” it. These people are a danger and very frightening to POC.

I’m waiting on Braverman and co who demonised Palestine protestors (who were not looting and beating up people) to speak up!

Thank you. What are you up to in the smoke?

pointythings · 04/08/2024 19:51

I'm back at work tomorrow after a lovely day off. Did some stick flinging in the woods today (aka field archery) after a year out with injury, was really good.
The thread on 'disappointed with Keir Starmer' is batshit and has all the usual suspects on it. The grapes are still sour.

L1ttledrummergirl · 04/08/2024 19:51

Dd is safely back from Bristol. She was surprised I didn't ask her not to after last night, but I refuse to let these louts cower us.

I'm having strawberry pavlova in a bit.

Rainbowsponge · 04/08/2024 19:52

They should definitely speak up, but the Palestine protesters (on a smaller scale) also used violent disorder to further their aims (no, I’m not saying it was as bad as this, but violent disorder just seems to be the default method now)

Happy birthday @BIossomtoes !
I'm going to the Eisteddfod on Thursday and then (massive excitement) Billy Joel on Friday! Chris Isaak is the support which is also quite exciting.
