I want to know what he had to say for himself. I want to know WHY & why there?

It won't make the 3 girls any less dead or the others uninjured or untraumatised..

How much will be reported on? He is 17 so is it just his name that is kept private or the details of the trial too? And nothing will be discussed at this point either way, surely it's just a formality to place him on remand. It takes a significant amount of time for them to build a case to take to trial.

LBFseBrom · 01/08/2024 01:41

I also want to know why, whether or not we get any answers remains to be seen. I imagine the parents of the dead children will also want to know the same.

He may say nothing and we'll have to wait for the trial.

Walkden · 01/08/2024 01:49

"I also want to know why, whether or not we get any answers remains to be seen"

I am no legal expert but is not most likely that discussions of motive etc will be reserved for the actual trial....

You knowing those details in advance won't help those girls or their families which is the most important thing after all. Perhaps they will have been given this information by the police but can't share it for fear of a mistrial.

I doubt this will shed any more light on what happened, but there is no need for people to be so rude.

Thevelvelletes · 01/08/2024 04:03

I would imagine, remanded in custody and trial date set.that will be it for the time being.

ThePoshUns · 01/08/2024 05:13

You won't get any answers today. He'll be asked to enter a plea and that will be it.

autienotnaughty · 01/08/2024 05:23

I don't think answers will come out until the court case.

I wonder if there will be a decision whether to reveal his identity? As presumably he will be tried as an adult.

When he turns 18 will his identity be revealed?

Meadowfinch · 01/08/2024 05:24

I think everyone want to know why. Such a pointless and appalling crime, makes it hard to comprehend.

QueenOfTheNihilist · 01/08/2024 05:37

Quick mandatory appearance reported as ‘the defendant didn’t speak except to confirm identity’, remanded in custody, referred to crown court.

Next: same sort of appearance in crown court, to set trial date / case management.

Actual trial: not for months, probably.

Wellfuckmesideways · 01/08/2024 06:53

There might not be a trial if he pleads guilty, just a sentencing.

My guess is mental health so various reports and assessments to inform courts decision. Just my guess though.

Iasonnas · 01/08/2024 07:08

It's not a tv show ffs.

Longcommute · 01/08/2024 07:16

I can't help but feel that this post is a way to rile up the masses. It's tragic what happened but let's leave it to the courts.

Agreed

Wanting to know the killer's motives is not turning it into a tv show.

DoreenonTill8 · 01/08/2024 07:19

CarpeVitam · 01/08/2024 01:16

And?

Well does it not mean he's fit to stand trial? Why the And?

summerdazey · 01/08/2024 07:29

We won't know why

Willmafrockfit · 01/08/2024 07:30

i hope the area is peaceful
