I am a third year student midwife in my last week of placement. To qualify I need to deliver 40 babies. With 3 shifts left I started this night shift needing 3 deliveries. I’ve only gone and got a hat trick and delivered my 40th baby!

I am absolutely over the moon and need to shout about it to anyone who will listen until a more civilised hour!

What a fabulous and privileged job I have ❤️

Congratulations. What a lovely post :) you will have a great job. I will never forget the lovely midwife who delivered my daughter nearly 30 years ago :)

Libertysparkle · 31/07/2024 06:27

Congratulations!
My daughter was my student midwifes 40th birth. I nearly gave my daughter her name as a middle name. I didn't know I was having a girl as my first pregnancy! It was a special birth for me too.

Congratulations! May this be the 40th of many, many, more!

Huge congratulations to you with getting your full compliment of deliveries before the end of your placement 🎊 what an achievement - you should feel incredibly proud of yourself over the full three years of training. Time to enjoy your new career now after this week is over!! Well done 👏

Congratulations! I hope you go on to a wonderful career - and welcome to babies!

Lilysgoneshopping · 31/07/2024 07:15

Congratulations 🎊 I had a student midwife and a student doctor competing to deliver my second son. Student midwife bailed out after 10 hours and the medical student took the crown 😀

listsandbudgets · 31/07/2024 07:16

Congratulations that's brilliant

DS was also a qualifying 40th baby. My midwife was a man and initially when he was telling me in the lift not to push I thought he was the porter! He was extremely good at his job and gave me confidence, support and expertise and my lovely DS and I bet he went on to an amazing career and I hope you will too.

shellyleppard · 31/07/2024 07:18

Congratulations to you - and to all those families who have started or increased their families this evening.

Midwifery is underestimated. Yet you'll support people day in and day out at their most vulnerable happiest and sometimes saddest times of their lives.

Good luck with your future career. Flowers
