Here you go

Thank you.

It will be interesting to see whether the membership will opt for ideology over a broader appeal.

BIWI · 28/07/2024 10:59

I suppose it depends which projects - from that article, the implication is that it's mainly road-related ones, rather than rail. Which, from an environmental POV, must be a good thing.

I'd be particularly pleased if the Stonehenge tunnel gets canned. (Not that I live anywhere near there). The potential damage to the site if the tunnel gets built would be awful, from what I've read.

Found you all! Thanks for the new thread.
I stupidly went into London yesterday, trains cancelled and delayed, saw a few of the " we want our country back" people dotted about. 🙄
Otherwise we had a fabulous evening watching Boys from the Blackstuff at the theatre.

Just catching up with the whose in and out of the Tory leadership. Oh what fun this leadership election will be!
@DuncinToffee have you read head north by Andy Burnham and Steve Rotherham? Loads of references to a certain football team. 😊

I haven't but I can imagine Andy Burnham being very passionate Grin

My MP, Mel Stride, is one of the candidates. I’m quite surprised that he isn’t cringing in a corner considering a 20,000 odd majority was decimated to 61 votes by an unimpressive Labour candidate.

Oh to have the arrogant bluster of a wealthy, white, middle aged Tory.

Oh now you have a bonus Christmas table picture - how odd - not sure what's happening to my phone today!

Apolloneuro · 28/07/2024 11:50

Only 150 days until Christmas, so not too early!

Crikeyalmighty · 28/07/2024 11:54

I reckon you two are going to fit in here just fine. 😂

Thanks. I was on the verge of leaving, as I’ve been on the vicious AIBU too much. Any thread where you have to pay cat tax is good for me.

Dogs, flowers and other pretty things are also acceptable. Which is a good thing as the cat situation in this house has gone from feast (four) to famine (none) over the years.

Evenstar · 28/07/2024 12:29

Welcome to newcomers, cat tax paid, my Bengal cross preventing me going out again by lying on my bag.

Your Bengal cross looks...cross @Evenstar !

BIossomtoes · 28/07/2024 12:48

He looks furious. What on earth has upset him?

Crikeyalmighty · 28/07/2024 15:05

@ilovesooty Ha- ha- yep

Evenstar · 28/07/2024 16:03

@IClaudine @BIossomtoes we went out for a few hours and he seemed displeased when we got home. He does have quite a grumpy face anyway, probably Resting Tom Face 🤣

Apolloneuro · 28/07/2024 16:09

Bengals are very needy. Mine stands in the middle of the house and screams if she thinks she’s alone. We have to run from wherever we are and reassure her.

My boy cat has a resting wounded feelings face. Useful for when he is shouted at for not catching a rabbit, after he has done protest poos, or when we tell him he has literally only just eaten.

My orange boy starts patrolling at about dawn yelling at me that it's breakfast time. Not at 4 am, it isn't. My big soft tabby on the other hand just sits down near me and looks at me with huge poor me eyes.

I think he would be a weak leader. So maybe the Labour and Lib Dem choice for Tory leader.
