I am sorry that I cannot pay my tax due. Cat that was going to be my tax payment ran off when a dog appeared.

Like that photo: Kier Starmer came prepared and had looked at the weather forecast 😂

You cannot imagine Boris Johnson being prepared- he couldn't even arrange visas that were needed for his first honeymoon.

ilovesooty · 27/07/2024 12:58

Lovely to see you all again. Cat tax attached. One cat having a relaxed moment and the other expressing displeasure at having his prey removed.

I loved Keir being prepared for the weather!

ilovesooty · 27/07/2024 12:59

Sorry

Found you thanks to @Zonder ! Cat tax is attached - the cat in question has been diagnosed with stage 2 chronic kidney disease and it's aggressive - treatment plan is still a work in progress but the focus is on quality of life, not length. We're sad, he's not even 3 and we've had him a year but he is an Egyptian and a mix of Oriental breeds so between that and his past on the street he was always high risk for this. He's going to be spoiled rotten while we have him.

Sorry to hear this @pointythings
I had a young Bengal from a rescue who had a life limiting heart condition. We were in the same position. It’s heart breaking, but you just have to hang on to knowing you gave them a good last however long they have 💔

DuncinToffee · 27/07/2024 13:43

Sorry to hear that Pointy

He's gorgeous. 🥰

Sorry to hear that, Pointy, your cat is beautiful.

Priti [Patel] is the Brat candidate in this election,” one Tory MP told @politicshome

🎓 She made her name as a Boris Johnson loyalist and remains a hit with the members. Can Priti Patel be the next Tory leader?

https://x.com/politicshome/status/1817163777185325385?s=46&t=Uw4lJNwxFZFnX0Xs3doHYg

Oh good Lord. Do they realise how low they poll with anyone younger than 50? Why would they try to use slang?!
(Yes I had to google modern usage of Brat).

Spandauer · 27/07/2024 15:31

Hah! I thought you were all being very quiet. Another bloomin' thread, innit?!

Cat tax and then off to catch up. 😆

Patel has been ds' pick ever since the election. Says she has more support amongst the MPs those that got back in Wink than people think. She's been keeping her head down and has no doubt been beavering away behind the scenes. So she will probably get to the last two. Whether the membership will pick her though, I don't know. Hmm

prettybird · 27/07/2024 15:43

Vance would hate us - all these pesky cats Grin

Although we're not all childless Wink

Is anyone else an NCIS fan and therefore hate the references to Vance as a bad 'un? Confused

Oh, beautiful orange cat. So sorry to hear your sad news about him Pointy. 😿

pointythings · 27/07/2024 16:07

He's absolutely stunning. He's also a hyper beast who has bullied my little black one because he always wants to play and be in charge. He is much calmer now, obviously. I've picked up painkillers and appetite stimulants for him, getting kidney protecting food for him tomorrow and we'll see. He has a vet checkup on Tuesday. I'm not that interested in politics right now, though Keir Starmer's planned raincoat did raise a smile.
