For £1025 you can buy a meet and greet with Nige if anyone is interested Wink

People kept asking Starmer to get into a public scrap with Farage but he kept swatting it away, to put the silly little rascist in his box.

Really? Is that even allowed? They need to crack on with this MPs and second jobs thing.

Yes because it gives an appearance of equivalence or legitimacy which untrue and undeserved

NoDishiForRishi · 01/08/2024 16:46

I'm watching him now, I've just wound back a bit. He's coming across very well, very human, you can tell he's concerned and angry and wants to fix it. No doubt about it, he's inherited a tinder box.

DuncinToffee · 01/08/2024 16:47

It is starting to rain here!

He should be very angry. This is a direct challenge to the legitimacy of his abilities to govern. There have been posters all over here with an ask for a new election, designed to capitalise on this organised disorder .
Racism is just one element of this; and this is a challenge to our right to live peaceful lives.

If you watched that and were encouraged then I’m afraid you are deluded.

Starmer is out of his depth and is a monumental risk to the UK. He has no idea how people feel.

BIWI · 01/08/2024 16:49

We're forecast 'thundery showers and light winds' here in SW London, but none of that appears to be happening yet. Still sunny.

Oh please. Just don't be so ridiculous.

You are a great example of what I have just described. What you feel is not a basis to tear up a town and terrify people. You can take your oblique warnings elsewhere

Sounded to me like he did. He reflected my feelings pretty accurately.

I think he’s got a pretty good handle on how people feel @Charlie2121 tbh. People like the parents of those little girls, the wider community in Southport, decent British people who don’t want EDL terrorism…….

I am off for a swim in the local lake. Hope the weather holds off for a while and is still sunny

The risk to the UK lies in the likes of Farage, Yaxley-Lennon and the brain dead rioters.

DuncinToffee · 01/08/2024 17:01

Absolutely.

prettybird · 01/08/2024 17:02

I don't (and won't ever) vote for Starmer, yet I too am happy on this occasion to say he speaks for me and most reasonable people.

I think he's stepped up to the mark very well Smile

EDL? They disbanded a decade ago.

Labour are the biggest security risk the country has ever seen. They are beyond clueless and will ultimately pay the price for being apologists for many groups who form a security risk to the UK.

This government won’t last a full term but the damage they will cause before being ousted will be immeasurable.

How people were fooled into voting for them is a mystery. History invariably repeats itself.

I agree. I voted Labour with reservations, but I think he is handling this really well. He has authority.

DrRiverSong · 01/08/2024 17:04

Does anyone have a recipe for strawberry shortcake. I fancy making some. (I’m fond of the food distraction tactic)

You can’t really believe that. He’s appalling. If there was another general election tomorrow he’d get trounced.

BIWI · 01/08/2024 17:06

I think you've been out in the sun for too long @Charlie2121. Go and have a lie down and calm yourself.
