EDL looking rather like a terrorist group to me, inciting violent racially motivated public disorder. How long do you have to serve in prison for causing peaceful disruption to the general public? Quite a few according to recent events. I hope to see many of tonight's yobs be treated similarly.

Me too. Praise to all emergency workers and peacekeepers, hope nobody's suffered too much damage. Those police looked very ill-equipped for dealing with the mob, reminded me of Thatcher's riots.

But there is a delicate balance to be struck if the police go in fully tooled up in traditional riot gear, there is more likely to be a more serious riot.

I was going to write "No, these people are the natural constituency, the core of Anderson and Tice's support, so Anderson & Tice etc are not going to condemn them. Not publicly at least, although I suspect they really despise them". However, I really wonder if the right-wing thugs rioting tonight, actually turn up and vote.

I believe you are supposed to arrest them and then taser them.

I just can't imagine anyone in the Stockport area (or anywhere else) wants anything other than a chance to grieve for those little girls, their families & think about those still in hospital.

22 officers and 3 police dogs injured. Not to mention what sounds like a fair amount of damage to public property. That would be the public property of a community that is already in shock.

Brilliant. Not like Lancashire Police have anything better to do these hot summer holidays to keep people safe. EDL do need to become a proscribed organisation now, I feel.
