@DuncinToffee Site Stuff I think

They keep leaving the Southport threads up. I’m at a loss as to why as it could prejudice a trial now people are openly stating his guilt and not listening to the reasons why stating the obvious-to-them could mean a trial fails.
Anyway, at risk of derailing this thread or having those posters swarm over to it so I’ll shut up now.

Apolloneuro · 30/07/2024 13:58

I had a post deleted and slapped wrist recently. A poster made a pretty preposterous claim that schools were falsely diagnosing children with ADHD/AD to get money (you don’t need to know much about schools and SEND funding to know that’s rubbish)

I literally wrote “That’s crap. I can’t be bothered to write any more”. Poof. Deleted.

And yet the kind of disgusting hyperbole that is standing proud on other threads goes on. Make it make sense!

I came close to leaving MN, but then found this lovely thread of normal people and lovely cats 🐈‍⬛

Even IFS economists don't know what on earth the Conservatives spent that lost £8.6bn on.

One thing I would like to know is what the government has spent £8.6bn on from the Reserve over the first few months of the financial year if it's not Ukraine, asylum costs or public sector pay awards. Yesterday's document leaves us none the wiser.

I feel like I should leave almost every day. But I'm still here....

You need to get good at using indirect passive-aggressive language to say what you want to say without getting moderated.

So you can't say 'You're a very stupid person and you know nothing about this subject', but you can say 'It's clear that there is a lack of expertise on this thread about this particular subject'.

It's like parliament where you can't say that someone lies

Did the use the 8.6 billion to place a huge bet on the date of the election?

Or on filming content for Tory Ministers for social media channels

The first tweet beneath this suggests money spent papering over the cracks in our system caused by Brexit which I think is an interesting idea.

But bloody hell - £8 billion is a helluva lot to go awol.

I had a not entirely voluntary time out before the election was called.

Am much more careful about how I post. Fewer of the obviously satirical piss takes than there used to be, because it appears some people don't have a sense of humour.

Brexit is not a bad shout.

RafaistheKingofClay · 30/07/2024 16:01

Knowing the last government, it could have gone on absolutely anything. Probably nothing legal.

Ha! You’re right. I’m a semi retired teacher, but just couldn’t be bothered with the shit sandwich. 😂

Hi! Also a semi retired teacher! Trying to put the emphasis on the ‘retired’ part now though.

I quite enjoy circumventing the moderation and really, everyone knows what you're really saying. I'm mostly quite nice, but not in the face of wilful ignorance.

Cats you say? I'm new to this thread but I can do that. Here's my elderly black cat who's not worried about Winter Fuel Payment.

That's a cracking little cat! 🐾😺

BIossomtoes · 30/07/2024 18:24

I know. Astonishing, isn’t it?

Spandauer · 30/07/2024 18:36

Willowkins - excellent tax payment! 🐈‍⬛

L1ttledrummergirl · 30/07/2024 18:40

Blow me down with a feather, bully accused of bullying. Can leopards change their spots, or do bears shit in the woods?

Would anyone be surprised to hear this?

Apolloneuro · 30/07/2024 18:49

I think “Well I’m fabulously wealthy and I’m JUST GOING TO LEAVE THE COUNTRY!” is the new “Well I’m JUST GOING TO TAKE THE PLACE AT THE OUTSTANDING SCHOOL!”

The entitled Tories who’ve got too used to life going their way are apoplectic aren’t they. It’s so funny. Love it.
