TheHuntSyndicate · 23/07/2024 14:12

Next clothing.

Never understood the appeal.

MrsLeonFarrell · 23/07/2024 14:14

Dyson

Meadowfinch · 23/07/2024 14:18

Heinz
Philadelphia cream cheese (which literally tastes of nothing)
BMW
Volkswagon Audi
Vanish (old fashioned washing soda is infinitely more effective)
Costa
Sky TV (unless you like sport, I suppose)
TikTok
Nespresso, Tassimo (just buy some decent fresh ground coffee and a cafetiere and save the world's landfills from all those horrid like pods)
Cathedral City cheese (has a faint tang of burnt car tyres)

Waitrose - only survives on its previous reputation.

Werweisswohin · 23/07/2024 14:26

Most luxury brands that folk buy just for the name.

Dyson

Our Dyson hoover was the best we ever had tbh.

Judellie · 23/07/2024 14:34

Barker and Stonehouse. Look carefully and their furniture and stuff isn't that great, actually.

Mercurial123 · 23/07/2024 14:42

Agree most designer brands but especially Christian Dior, and their recent sweatshop scandal. A bag costing €53 to produce is being sold for over €2,000, unsafe working practices, undocumented workers etc. But they get away with it as they used a contractor. Whilst their adverts claim it's made by artisans....

BarHumbugs · 23/07/2024 14:43

Apple

MrsMoastyToasty · 23/07/2024 14:46

Mulberry handbags. They are made in a factory like millions of other handbags. (,I've been around the factory).

Hoover is a brand. Do you mean vacuum?
Hotel chocolate

Bjorkdidit · 23/07/2024 15:01

Heinz

Audrey's chocolates.

Every time there's a naice chocolates thread on here, someone goes on about how overpriced and nasty Hotel Chocolat is and then goes on to recommend Audrey's.

So I eventually ordered some and found they were nothing special, far more expensive than Hotel Chocolat, had a suspiciously long use by date of over a year, which doesn't fit with their 'fresh artisan chocolates' image and were full of all kinds of shite that no good Mumsnetter would allow to pass her lips (palm oil, endless e numbers etc).

LadyWiddiothethird · 23/07/2024 15:01

Mulberry, new ones are nothing like the quality of the originals.

Brora.
