Hmm thoughts. Play with fire and you get your fingers burnt

But the theory you replied to, that he was killed where he was found, then the body moved, and then moved back makes no sense.

His friend who was on the phone with him said he was slipping on the path even whilst talking to him.

He wasnt a reliable source

His friend who was on the phone with him said he was slipping on the path even whilst talking to him.

Exactly this. it was only a matter of time.

It’s sad but when I heard of his last location during his FaceTime I knew he’d got lost and became dehydrated or he had fallen. It was quite obvious tbh

SSBBW · 15/07/2024 15:55

They'll not be able to calculate an accurate time of death will they.

More reliable than any of us, who didn't spek to him shortly before his death.

As a pp said, the simplest explanation is usually the most common.

Indeed but that’s no fun for the half witted conspiracy theorists.

BowlOfNoodles · 15/07/2024 15:57

After what Keith Bennets mother endured for years and years the family need closure.

The Netherlands? They know the terrain better than the Tenerife folk I guess!

Espcially as The Netherlands is as flat as a pancake. A Dutch friend of mine was blown away by Malaga mountains...but I digress.

Yeah if he hadn’t and instead said something bad about Slater chances are they would have gone after him again.

They all seem to know each other. Slater was on the periphery.

He doesn't look like a little feeble kid with special needs, more like a large adult male.

He {Attacked person} was a housebreaker and mocked police speeding through a residential area putting innocent passersby at risk.

Six of one, half a dozen of the other.

Yeah I know, but I mean he was probably saying this to protect himself a bit as well. I obviously don’t know though.

Some of the comments about the Go Fund Me are pretty thoughtless. If something similar happened to your son or brother, do you think you’d still be fit for work? You’d likely need to take a prolonged period off sick. But the bills would still need to be paid.

I feel very sorry for Jay’s family. Some of the posters on here who claim the same clearly don’t mean it, or they wouldn’t be putting the boot in on a public forum.

Exactly.

If his mum/dad use it to take a year off sick, access counselling, throw a huge funeral... who cares.

The boy's dead and still some on here are banging on about about the correct way to use money that was donated by people who wanted to help in some small way.

Now, unfortunately in the worst possible circumstances, they can.

I don't know if it's his upbringing as such. But GENERALLY people who have good people around them and people who look out for each other don't end up in situations or lifestyles where they are a bystander to a machete attack, or end up getting battered by men at the age of 12 (think it was 12?). Or end up going off somewhere miles away on holiday possibly with a stolen Rolex.

Edited

Precisely

This is a ridiculous comparison. Keith Bennett was killed by one of the most depraved serial killers of all time.

Jay Slater went missing whilst walking alone on unfamiliar terrain.

They probably will, by forensic tests, state of the remains {Wether animals have disturbed the remains &c}

GuinnessBird · 15/07/2024 16:03

This is not stopping the conspiracy theorists, far from it.

There's no proof that Jay stole a watch, was selling drugs or anything else.

In all probability he probably slipped on a loose stone and fell.

I'm talking about having remains to bury not the situation!!

Will we get to know if he had a Rolex in his bum bag?

Call logs are pretty easy to verify.

PToosher · 15/07/2024 16:05

I was out in the early hours of the morning, having had 'a drink or two', with a friend. We took a cross country walk home, I slipped down a high bank, bumped my head and passed out in some bushes. If I'd been on my own, I may well have succumbed to exposure. As it was, my friend was able to get assistance and I was recovered, still unconscious, in a car.

Call logs are pretty easy to verify.

The case of Elaine O' Hara {Eire} and her disgusting killer {whom I won't name}- The two Nokia phones retrieved from a reservoir showed the messages between the innocent vulnerable victim and the smug vile killer.

It's still a ridiculous comparison. Keith's mum was tormented for nearly 50 years about where her son was buried, and his killer played games with her about his location.

Whereas Jay's death was likely an accident and he went missing less than a month ago.

Exactly this. I don’t understand why people are speculating when it’s likely he just slipped and fell. The body has been found near where his phone last pinged. He phoned his friend and said he was lit and needed water, it’s likely he then fell, dehydration would have made him uneasy in his feet. There’s nothing to suggested he was kidnapped or murdered.

Had he been sent to prison he’d be alive now.

The attack happened in 2021, so if my calcs are correct, that would mean for him to still be in prison now, he needed to be sentenced to at least 6 years in prison (assuming hed be out in half the time for good behaviour). For standing around egging others on while they physically carried out the attack. (Pretty sure it was reported that he didn't actually carry out any part of the attack itself?)

While I think encouraging it is awful and absolutely deserving of some sort of punishment from the justice system, I'm not sure a 6 year custodial sentence is proportionate?

Perhaps, if that Tom was in prison for his offences, he wouldn't have been attacked? (If reports are correct, he had 14 convictions for 28 offences, although they were reported in 2023 when he was sentenced, so in 2021 it prob wasnt as much as 28/14 tbf, but still, in the spirit of "if only this criminal was in jail X wouldnt have happened".......)
