Can I wear a denim jacket to a wedding ?

I am going to a wedding in a couple of weeks . I am wearing a green jewel colour dress and am struggling to know what jacket / cardi to wear. I really feel the cold so will need to wear something unless we have a heatwave.

I have a blue denim jacket is that a no no for a smart / casual wedding ?

I have a black denim type jacket or black cardis but feel I want something more cheerful for a summer wedding.

please help me I am hopeless. Size 14 ish short person. Big boobs.

it would be difficult to exactly match the green - I would go with the cream colour, but i can appreciate if it is not what you normally like to wear you might not want to spend much on it especially if you take it off inside to show off your dress

Depends on the wedding.. I’ve worn a denim jacket to a wedding (woodland outdoor ceremony) and a couple of bridesmaids wore them at mine (tipi’s in a field). Trainers were also worn by lots at both.

Could you wear a pashmina type wrap?
Contrasting purple would look nice.

Of course you can if it's a casual wedding! LMAO at all the posters who say no and don't even explain why! Are you telling me I imagined the father of the groom wearing dirty jeans at my wedding 21 years ago, so hardly even a new thing! 🙄🤣

In the nicest possible way, it depends on the wedding.

I went to one, in Rome, at a private Palazzo and have never been so dolled up in finery in my life.

I went to another in a modern church on a housing estate and the reception was a picnic on the lawn behind.

With the wrong attire, I would not have been bloody let in at the former, yet could definitely have worn a denim jacket and sparkly DMS at the latter. Which was brilliant in its own right, we played an enormous game of rounders, it was great fun.
