Where do you put your clothes at bedtime

And how do you stop having a floordrobe?

Has any non-tidy/disorganised person happened on any top tips, easy habits to create that would help me from being overtaken by clothes that are in the 'wear again' pile in the corner of our bedroom?

Everytime I reorganise the drawers and wardrobes, they stay neat for a few days then the piles just build back up worse than ever.

DH is tidy, poor thing, but he's fighting a losing battle as I'm encroaching on his clothes territory,

I just do not and never have had a system. If you have, could you share pls?

Any easy tips welcome.

Following because I would like to know also!

TheGiantEmperor · 13/07/2024 21:39

On the ottoman despite the fact I told myself I would be good and never leave clothes on it.

wafflesmgee · 13/07/2024 21:40

Wear it till you wash it, move your floor drove into your wardrobe
Get rid of 30%of your clothes or store elsewhere eg dresses for weddings etc, to make more day to day space

If it takes less than a minute, do the job straight away

vodkaredbullgirl · 13/07/2024 21:40

On the floor by my bed.

user1474315215 · 13/07/2024 21:40

On a chair.

@wafflesmgee But I wear my clothes for more than one day. So where do I put my clothes overnight until I wear them again?

Overtheatlantic · 13/07/2024 21:42

Either on the floor by my bed or in the laundry pile in the room next door.

FoxRedPuppy · 13/07/2024 21:42

I used to have an ottoman, but moved my room around so now no space. So the floor. There is no room for a chair

Doggymummar · 13/07/2024 21:42

Dirty ones in the bathroom hamper. Hang up if not wearing tomorrow, window ledge if wearing tomorrow.

TheFloorDrobeHasGotMe · 13/07/2024 21:45

I'm heartened to read that I'm not the only one making use of the floor but I'm sure most of us would prefer not to!

You need a chair, and to be ok with never sitting on it.

BlackStrayCat · 13/07/2024 21:47

floor or top of drawers.

Babychewtoy · 13/07/2024 21:48

We have hooks on the wall in our bedroom next to the laundry basket for this very purpose.

ReignOfError · 13/07/2024 21:48

If I’m wearing them again the next day, on a hanger on the outside of the wardrobe door. If I’m not wearing them until some future date, inside-out on hangers in one end of the wardrobe.

Sadtosaythis · 13/07/2024 21:49

In the wash basket and if not back in the wardrobe…. I don’t really see why I’d leave them on the floor, it’s just another job for me the next day!

serialcatbuyer · 13/07/2024 21:49

I only wear pyjamas at home. When I come in I hang my outside clothes up if they are clean

InterestQ · 13/07/2024 21:49

Laundry basket or over dressing table stool.

mynameiscalypso · 13/07/2024 21:51

It's the only reason I have a chair in my bedroom. I'd never use it for sitting

HoppityBun · 13/07/2024 21:52

I’m really desperately untidy - ADHD chaos. I’m not OCD or anything but I can’t bear to put clothes I’ve worn back into the wardrobe or a drawer, even if the motivation was there. I have a 1940 4’ bed with a headboard and footboard and the clothes get draped over the footboard. The pile gets v high and I’m going to donate clothes to the charity shop because it’s the only way I will be able to cope

justasking111 · 13/07/2024 21:54

On top of a towel storage box in the bathroom which is where I undress because DH uses the dressing table stool and the floor in the bedroom 🙄

PurpleMat · 13/07/2024 21:54

We both have a specific small drawer each, for worn clothes that cam be worn again and are not yet ready to be washed.

Serialcatmum · 13/07/2024 21:54

I hang mine on the hooks in the back of the bathroom door. This is where they need to be when I have a shower the next day so seems logical place. In the winter is can be a quick cold dash into bed!

This😂

Atethehalloweenchocs · 13/07/2024 21:54

On a hanger to air if they are going to be worn again, then back into the wardrobe in the morning when I get up. If they need washing, into the bathroom laundry bag.

ThePoshUns · 13/07/2024 21:55

In the wash basket if it's dirty, put it away if it's not. Don't have a chair. If you gave something to put it on you're not going to put it away.
