If you’re quite short, what car do you drive?

I’m looking at getting a little run around car for me as I just can’t drive the Toyota we have as I just can’t see out of it, no matter how much I adjust the seat / use a cushion. I’m only 4ft 11 and just want something small and economical that I can see out of! Any recommendations?

I’m 4ft 11 and have had a Yaris and Aygo and been able to see out quite easily. I now drive a MG zs and can see out no problem.

Lou16777 · 06/07/2024 22:38

I'm 5ft and drive a fiesta, can see no problem!

CuntRYMusicStar · 06/07/2024 22:40

I'm 5ft and have a Peugeot 2008, I love it. It's so fuel efficient too!

Mushroo · 06/07/2024 22:40

Fiesta was also my favourite. I now have a Kuga which is huge but I can see great!

Ford cars seem to be quite adjustable and I really like them - more than the Mercedes / BMWs I’ve had!

kitsuneghost · 06/07/2024 22:42

Seat ibiza

neilyoungismyhero · 06/07/2024 22:43

Peugeot 208 cc I'm 4 11

toomanydiets · 06/07/2024 22:45

5ft BMW X1. Perfect visibility and adjustability. I love it!

LutonBeds · 06/07/2024 22:46

5’ 2” and a Nissan Juke, learned in a Fiat Punto and a Corsa. I also drive DH’ s Quashqai.

jellycat · 06/07/2024 22:49

Skoda Fabia and I’m 5”. The seat can be adjusted up and down quite a lot. I don’t think the base models have such a lot of adjustment. We have a bottom of the range Citigo as well and it doesn’t have the same amount of adjustment (I can still just about manage but I don’t really like driving it).

RaininSummer · 06/07/2024 22:51

5 3 and a skoda citigo.

Cinnabarmotheaten · 06/07/2024 22:52

5’2” Hyundai Ionic hybrid - seat can go up a decent amount so have good visibility and is heaven to drive but standard saloon size not small. Uses half the petrol.

maw1681 · 06/07/2024 22:53

I'm 5'4" so ok in most cars but I did test drive a citroen c3 and it felt like it was a perfect size for me, small seat etc, my 6'11 DH's head was touching the roof. So that's a good car for smaller ladies!

mejon · 06/07/2024 23:01

5'2" (on a good day) and I drive a Hyundai i20. The seat and steering wheel are adjustable and visibility is good. DD1 is shorter than me at around 4'8" but has struggled to reach the pedals comfortably in it. She's learning in a Kia Picanto and has been in a Peugeot 107 with no problems. My mum is around the same height as DD and has a Seat Mii.

WhitstablePearl · 06/07/2024 23:05

Fiat 500. Love it

Desparelyseekingfreedom · 06/07/2024 23:07

My very petite friend asked this at the garage. Apparently the nissan note is highly recommended for shorter drivers.

CloudNineShopper · 06/07/2024 23:10

5ft2 and drive an Audi A1

No problems seeing out as the dashboard isn't too big. I find a huge dashboard that takes up huge amounts of space in front of the windscreen is much of the problem if you're short

jeffdidit · 06/07/2024 23:10

4 ft 10
I drive a mini

I love my mini

strawberryblue · 06/07/2024 23:16

Fiat 500

thishouseisashittip · 06/07/2024 23:18

5.1 here and have a Fiat 500, an Abarth 595 and a Citroen C4 Picasso. No problem driving any of them. In fact have and do drive lots of different vehicles at work (Toyota hilux, Luton van, 15 seater mini bus, Nissan electric van, Peugeot partner van,) not had a problem with any of them to be honest 🤷🏻‍♀️

honeyfox · 06/07/2024 23:20

5'0 and drive a Ford Fiesta, find it good. Have my eye on a Kuga. Drove lots of different cars as did lessons for years, probably disliked the Yaris and Aygo the most as the pedals seemed to be too far apart for me. Also have driven DH's Mazda CX3 and found it pretty adjustable.

Badgerstmary · 06/07/2024 23:22

5:3 (nearly) & a Nissan Juke

GiveUsACoffee · 06/07/2024 23:24

I drive a Mini Countryman, and am just under 5ft

Mumof1andacat · 06/07/2024 23:26

5ft. I drive a corsa.

Minidriverinmorewaysthan1 · 06/07/2024 23:44

My username says it all! I'm 4ft 10 and have just bought my 7th Mini. They just fit me perfectly. Also, the Clubman (I'm now on my 3rd!) is brilliant for us shorter ladies as the van doors mean no trying to reach up to close the boot Smile

BeReet · 06/07/2024 23:54

I'm 5ft and drive a Land Rover Discovery. Apart from having to stand on my tip toes to close the boot if I forget to lower the suspension, I have no problems driving it. I like being high up with a clear view of the road
