What's the most awful thing your parent has said or done?

Lots of posts about family estrangement on MN. What is the worst thing your parent has said or done, what was the straw that broke the camels back?

I'll start. My mum called me a "murderer" for having a miscarriage. Like I had a choice in the matter. She also once asked me why I couldn't just "turn a blind eye" when I discovered my DH was cheating.

When I was pregnant with my son and unmarried (a mortal sin in her eyes) told me she would rather have found out I was dying of cancer than find out I was pregnant. When my second child was stillborn said it was my fault. Constantly told from a very young age I was thick and stupid and was sorry she had me. Let her paedophile father babysit us and turned a blind eye to him abusing me because she "always idolised my dad". All later denied of course!

Found out I was having sex (I was18) dragged me to Dr for STD test. Made me feel like I’d done something wrong. Called me all sorts of names. Banned me from seeing a boy. I went anyway. Followed me to boys house, waited for me to come out, kicked me across road. Put me in his car and smacked me around the face.

I must have been about 18 and had arranged for my dad to pick me up after a night out. The car park was dark and I couldn’t see his car (he never turned on the lights either). I hated walking around in the dark, he saw me and slapped me across the face when I eventually found him telling me I was a pain for being late!
I couldn’t wait to leave home as there were always arguments about something or other.
