There may have been more, but these are the "notable" Tory losses I spotted in the flurry of results overnight:

Johnny Mercer
Therese Coffey
Lucy Frazer
Michelle Donelan
Jacob Rees-Mogg
Tobias Ellwood
Gillian Keegan
Simon Hart (Chief Whip)
David TC Davies
Andrea Jenkyns
Connor Burns
Miriam Cates
Jonathan Gullis
Michael Fabricant
Brendan Clarke-Smith
Liam Fox
Alex Chalk
Douglas Ross
Victoria Prentis
Theresa Villiers

Mark Harper is the 9th Cabinet Minister to go.

itsgettingweird · 05/07/2024 06:30

So I've managed to find out Braverman held her seat by approx 6k votes.

It's being sold as a way out.

Just checked 2019. She won by 24k seats.

So not the result I wanted but a massive drop to her previous majority!

TheInvisibleMann · 05/07/2024 06:31

We've gone Lib Dem. Bye Invisible Mann.

Saucery · 05/07/2024 06:31

Not Gillian Keegan! Shock Shock Shock But she works so hard and never gets any thanks for it! Grin

Igotjelly · 05/07/2024 06:31

Hadn’t realised George Galloway had lost his new seat, must have been asleep. Absolutely delighted, he’s an odious creature.

Notonthestairs · 05/07/2024 06:32

I was just liking to see what happened with Braverman.

Patel won - will give Braverman a run for her money over leadership.

theonewiththeToryMP · 05/07/2024 06:32

I presume Labour fielded a good candidate to lure people away from Gorgeous George?

Also Grant Shapps.

I can't think of any more. Good memory you have.

Notonthestairs · 05/07/2024 06:33

Looking not liking!

minou123 · 05/07/2024 06:33

Priti Patel has held on.

Good god.

Just waiting for Liz Truss

Igotjelly · 05/07/2024 06:33

Priti Patel gives me the rage!

Neil Kinnock was completely frank about his opinion of Galloway, too. Very enjoyable.

LazyGewl · 05/07/2024 06:34

With the tories gone I feel the same relief as when my extremely abusive ex husband (he once almost strangled me) finally left me alone. The public has had to witness and experience the stranglehold of an increasingly corrupt, smug, arrogant government full of people who have demonstrated cruelty and contempt towards ordinary people - not to mention the racists. And in my lifetime the phenomenon of people of colour who are able to express more harmful racism than their white counterparts. I am looking forward to seeing that shower taking their places on the back benches and to seeing that some of them won’t be there at all due to having lost their seats - especially Jacob Rees Mogg.

CeeJay81 · 05/07/2024 06:34

Hywl fawr Tories!! Wales is Tory Free 😁

theonewiththeToryMP · 05/07/2024 06:34

My constituency had been a conservative seat for 54 years straight and that ended TODAY! 🎉🎉🎉 Good morning everyone! 😁

Blimey. Can we ask where?

Tangled123 · 05/07/2024 06:36

Delighted Theresa Villiers is out. She was an awful Secretary of State for NI.

theonewiththeToryMP · 05/07/2024 06:38

Oh, Truss to declare soon. Liz not in the hall!

Yes, Harman speaking to Phillips is marvellous.

Yes, I enjoyed that. I missed Jess's count result but it sounds horrific.

HalleLouja · 05/07/2024 06:40

I have been a long time lurker on your threads.

I live on the other side of Bim Afolami’s ex constituency and we got the Lib Dem candidate. I mean if the Tories couldn’t win Harpenden and Berkhamstead they had no chance of winning the election.

Owlbookend · 05/07/2024 06:40

Strong indication truss has lost on bbc

Hitchin are the winners. They have an excellent MP now.

theonewiththeToryMP · 05/07/2024 06:41

Announcement incoming!

theonewiththeToryMP · 05/07/2024 06:42

Wheeeeeere's Lizzie??????!
