Ian Paisley Jnr gone in NI - a paisley in that seat for over 50 years.

TheInvisibleMann · 05/07/2024 06:56

I've had to switch back to the BBC, Dorries is just mad.

What on earth made C4 invite Dorries? What a waste of a chair.

It really annoys me. I’m not a Tory but there are decent considered polite and knowledgeable Tories out there that could have been invited and instead they invited Dorries.

She reminds me of some MN posters who come out with mind blowing nonsense and double down when challenged.

Didn't realise that Fabricant lost! Woo hoo

Good also to see the back of Gullis.

Grantshappsgoodbye · 05/07/2024 06:59

The seats of 4 of the 5 last Prime Ministers are no longer Blue.

theonewiththeToryMP · 05/07/2024 07:00

I didn't realise all ex PMs, except Sunak , have seen their seats lost from Tories.

minou123 · 05/07/2024 07:00

Jenkyns and Baker gone too.

Best night ever.🤗

RishiAteMyHamster · 05/07/2024 07:02

Jenkyns is gone? Brilliant 👏👏

I wish Rory Stewart would stop pretending he’s a classic floating voter.

I like and respect him and I subscribe to The Rest Is Politics podcast but I very much agree with you. His reasons for being a Tory always seem to boil down to things like, loving his country, loving the countryside, loving the monarchy and the armed forces together with a weakness for marching bands and uniforms. It always sounds as if he honestly thinks everyone who doesn’t vote Tory can’t be patriotic and has to be a republican.

FrenchFancie · 05/07/2024 07:08

Sadly our safe Tory seat remains a safe Tory seat. Bigger vote share gone to labour though….

TheOnlyMrsW · 05/07/2024 07:08

Woken up to a Labour mp woohoo 🎉🎉🎉, absolutely in awe of those who stayed up! Going to be a good day

RayonSunrise · 05/07/2024 07:10

Cannot bear Dorries - everything is constant attack and point scoring, with no substance behind it. Alll she seems to stand for is herself, her Botox habit, and her massive crush on Boris. I know it's been a tough few years for Tories, but surely they could have found someone better to represent the party?

itsgettingweird · 05/07/2024 07:15

Steve Baker absolutely NOT gracious in defeat 😳

TheCatRenamed · 05/07/2024 07:15

Go Jess Phillips 💪

Steve Baker absolutely NOT gracious in defeat 😳

Steve Baker was hilarious on ITV - blaming George Osborne and Ed Balls, and saying how glad he is to be going!

mibbelucieachwell · 05/07/2024 07:20

Reform has a bigger share of the vote share than Lib Dems 😬 Very concerning

verdantverdure · 05/07/2024 07:22

There was an article somewhere that used the phrase " Labour's army of busy mums in ankle boots" and that made me think of Jess Phillips.

Grantshappsgoodbye · 05/07/2024 07:23

Uxbridge has gone red. Clearly ULEZ wasn't the Labour lead disaster we were led to believe.

Willmafrockfit · 05/07/2024 07:24

Liz Truss said she has a Lot to think about

I really do have a lot of time for Stephen Flynn.

If you read his book (which is very good) he really does make it sound as if he wandered into the Tory party because he actaully really wnated to be an Important MP, and the Tories gave him the best chance of Being Important. I quite like him but he is the nicer end of public schoolboy entitlement.

I get the impression both he and Alastair have gained and learnt a lot from their friendship and TRIP.
