Strangly the one that sticks out is my grandads he passed in 1997 and my grandma's because of the triangle pattern you could make with the numbers when you dialed it haha.

Yes it's funny the things that stick in your memory.
When I was young the first phone we got in the early 1960s was a shared line with a neighbour down the street. It caused loads of friction because my father used to talk to colleagues on it for literally hours and the neighbour used to eventually knock on our door furious because he couldn't use his phone. I can remember that phone number . Of course it helps it was only a 4 digit one.

Can remember our landline number ,my best friends home number and my Mums best friends number. All over 50 years ago.

DragonScales · 04/07/2024 09:42

Yes, a couple (aunts, grandma, best friend, childhood home, local taxi for town i lived in 25 years ago, maybe even the pizza delivery phone number from when i was at uni).

Out of all these only 1 aunt still has a landline with the same number. But obviously i never type it in to dial because she's saved in my phone.

Custardandrhubarbcrumble · 04/07/2024 09:45

I remember my childhood home phone number, my childhood best friend's (I often think if I rang it now I could probably chat to her mum!) My mum's and husband's mobiles and my own, and our landline which was disconnected last year. That's about it.

familyissues12345 · 04/07/2024 09:46

Not house numbers , no, but I don't know anyone who has one anymore!

Mobile numbers - my own, DHs and my Dads (because he's had the same number for about 20 years Grin)

I'd recognise DS1s number if it was written down, but I couldn't tell you what it is. Haven't got a clue what DS2s number is, at all..!

TurquoiseDress · 04/07/2024 09:47

I can only remember one landline number- my parents

It's seared in my brain from my teen years, giving it to friends and potential boyfriends Grin

Calling it when I desperate need of a lift home!

It's the only number imprinted on my memory- apart from my own mobile phone number

TM1979 · 04/07/2024 09:47

Yes I remember my childhood home phone number. In Ireland so it was 9 digits.

Starseeking · 04/07/2024 09:50

Yes, my parents number (they've lived in their house over 40 years and had the same number for about 30 of those years) and my closest friends parents number (she now lives about 40 miles away from that house, but her parents still live there!).

Coastalcreeksider · 04/07/2024 09:52

Our home phone number we got in 1970 ish, seven numbers. Also neighbour across the road as I paid 2d to use it a couple of times, it only had four numbers, they had theirs quite a bit before mum and dad did.

WiseBiscuit · 04/07/2024 09:54

Yes lots, I use parts of some very old ones as passwords.

I can remember our home one from the 70’s and I think it’s a safe bet that no-one could guess it as it’s not written down anywhere.

Ditto

I remember the one from a shared student house in 1973 - it was a pay phone - but the first time I had lived with a phone! None of my family had phones.

Soubriquet · 04/07/2024 10:02

Ooo I can remember another number. 714353. But what I can’t remember is who it belongs to!!

It was either my own phone number or my other nans Grin

Yes my childhood phone numbers. My own landline. But no others inc ones I called all the time eg bfs.

I also remember a friends from age 10 who I hardly phoned but she had a number that was very easy and all 2s practically.

Bizarrely also a numberplate of a childhood car.

MonsteraMama · 04/07/2024 10:07

My mam's home phone number because it's been the same since I was a child and she still uses it, and bizarrely I can remember my childhood best friend's. It's just a good number, nice and flowing.

Oneblindmouse · 04/07/2024 10:09

I can remember our first (only) home number from the 60's. Also both my aunt's numbers and my DF's business number. I'm 64.

Confusedmermaid1 · 04/07/2024 10:09

I can remember my best friend’s home number from school days 😂 her parents probably moved a decade ago and I haven’t called that number in at least 15 years.. and my grandparents but they still use their landline

HÆLTHEPAIN · 04/07/2024 10:10

My parents still have the same number so that’s easy.

I can also remember my first boyfriend’s (early 90’s) and my nana’s from the 80’s.

mitogoshi · 04/07/2024 10:11

My mums, she still has a landline and I call from my work phone sometimes. I kniw my own

Sunnyside4 · 04/07/2024 10:15

I know ours and my Mums.

Funnily enough, I don't know my own mobile number (keep it with phone for backup), but I know DH's - he's had one a lot longer than me.

Itiswhysofew · 04/07/2024 10:15

I know DM's. I remember my childhood number, 575 1189.

I remember my DS's, (wont quote here, as it still exists) & my DP's family home number, 579 0326.
