Violent vomiting for hours overnight so thought just bad dose of D&V. But very sore chest. Sore neck (glands like 2 hardboiled eggs). No temp but shivery.
Pale, clammy, massive headache not resolving with ibuprofen / paracetamol. Any ideas what it might be (covid?)
We are due on hols in 12 days (1st flight ever) & would really like him well.

The anxiety may be a contributor (or even rhe cause) of the trytopin levels but its not related to the left ventricle problems so I'm not highlighting it.

No. Troponin levels can rise because of anxiety, but not into the thousands like your DS.

@medianewbie Liquid via cannula will all be calculated by the nursing staff. It’s great that you’re paying attention. His chart will have a fluid balance sheet and it will be noted on this along with any drinks.

OP - maybe worth asking if anxiety can cause an increase in troponin levels?

You really really really can’t anxiety yourself to troponin levels that crazily high. The OP knows this is due to heart damage as do the doctors and they are investigating it and monitoring him. The OP knows these are scary levels and her son is unwell and is doing an amazing job advocating for him and being with him. Suggesting it’s all just anxiety is not helpful.

Consultant is saying defo not heart attack as Tryponin levels not high enough. I've tried to Google but I'm only getting levels in ng/mm not 1,000s.

I found this but I'm not clever enough to understand it. I appreciate I need to wait & see what experts say but I'm SO worried his T level has gone from 2.4k to 5.? K in 2 days & they"re not addressing that (or if so I don't understand & guy this am was tetchy)

@medianewbie I am so sorry I haven't had time to read all the posts but I have read your updates. I just wanted to say that my MRI that showed myocarditis - i didn't have a cannula or the dye, it was just a scan. They can do that without the contrast dye! The dye does help and it can be used if needed for a follow up but they should not be telling you he HAS to have it as actually myocarditis was found on me without the contrast dye (which is what a cannula is for).

popsickle555 · 03/07/2024 14:53

And sorry If I have mis-understood the reason they couldn't do the MRI . From your post i thought it was because he couldn't have the cannula but I may have read it wrongly.

medianewbie · 03/07/2024 14:59

@popsickle555 he's got Myocarditis & LVSD. I think they want the MRI to see what the LVSD damage is. They say he has to have it. I hope they'll try again tomorrow.

@medianewbie I wonder if you started another thread in chat with a title re myocarditis troponin levels increased from 2.4 to 5k in 2 days you might get some targeted replies.
Though completely understand that two threads , given all you're going through might finish you off.

Try the Reddit forum for Myocarditis. You will get people who have had it answering.

Troponin can come down pretty quickly, especially if related to a panic attack or anxiety. Sorry, haven't read the whole thread, so sorry if this isn't relevant. I've seen troponin levels much higher before (possibly 36,000?). When it spikes, it really spikes sometimes. I've seen someone with 23,000 after a severe panic attack. Sorry if my comments are unhelpful with not reading the thread.

medianewbie · 04/07/2024 11:44

Cardiac MRI now put back to tomorrow. 'IT problems' apparently. Frustrating.

medianewbie · 04/07/2024 11:46

@Oversharingsonewusernamehaha
Ds also has a dx of Myocarditis & a left ventricle problem (not emptying fully).

MatildaTheCat · 04/07/2024 11:47

Glad things are going in the right direction. Would it be possible to ask if the lovely phlebotomist could do the cannulation? Seems your DS can tolerate bloods being taken by her so it might be far less traumatic for him.

medianewbie · 04/07/2024 11:54

Just met 4th Cardiologist (1 other was a Registrar, I have discovered).
They're now saying viral Myocarditis (inflamed not infected) LVSD (but mild & heart pushing blood better), they've stopped checking Triponon levels (??).
But also say its ' not a full diagnosis' & still want the MRI. I'm hoping that's because he's young & they're being careful.
