Do you think Reform UK will be negatively impacted by the racist revelation?

Do you think this will make their moderate supporters think again?

OP posts:
Maverick66 · 28/06/2024 21:31

No, it's perfectly clear what and who they are.

verdantverdure · 28/06/2024 21:31

Will the gullible bigots who vote Reform mind if Reform are bigots?

No. Because they're gullible bigots. They'll believe anything Farage tells them..

RubySloth · 28/06/2024 21:34

TaxiCabsAndBusyStreets · 28/06/2024 21:30

And @rubysloth it is absurd to imagine Channel 4 have fabricated this - they're not going to throw away their stellar record on investigative journalism by making up a story about Reform.

It wasn't just Andrew Parker in the footage - established Reform members were there being exposed making homophobic and racist comments and the party cannot pretend that they are paid actors. It's ridiculous enough to suggest Parker is acting.

And I wonder what it is about 'far right parties' that means racist comments come out, what a head scratcher.

Any party out of the norm gets stick. I'm not white and honestly couldn't give two shits... most racism is behind closed doors... the worst ones dont boardcast it but you can tell by the eyes. It annoys me when these stories come out, just before an election.

Grandmasswagbag · 28/06/2024 21:34

Are you kidding ? There is no such thing as a moderate reform voter. They are a far right party based purely on racism. You would only vote for reform if you're racist. The far right is on the rise across the whole of Europe and it's very scary.

Sookafatwan · 28/06/2024 21:10

LOL bringing Andrew Tate into it.

Farage said that Andrew Tate is an 'important voice for men' and 'a good role model for boys.'

Tate has been facing charges since December 2022 of rape, human trafficking and forming a criminal gang to sexually exploit women.

Who is Andrew Tate and why is he in court?

The British-American influencer and former kickboxer rose to notoriety in 2016 when he was removed from Big Brother.

I’m Pakistani, when I’m in the UK I rarely go a week without hearing it or being called it

I’m so sorry.
I’m an early 60s child, born in SE London. I’m so sorry to offend anyone but the phrase “pi b*g was common parlance then.

Even as a child, I sensed that there was something very wrong about it. It didn’t come from my family. They were I’m afraid just the same as everyone around us. But to me it felt somehow wrong.

To read your comment in 2024 is deeply depressing.

It's come out now because it's happened now.

I’ve just been reading some comments on another forum from Reform voters in an effort to try to understand them as I don’t think it’s helpful to keep name-calling one another (thick, stupid etc).

Reading them I now sort of see the attraction for many. These ‘thick people’ are the same people who fell for the lies Farage told last time around in the Brexit campaign (which yes arguably does make them a bit stupid) BUT we need to understand the appeal their policies have to those who are fed up with how shit this country is now, (which many of us agree with) and that they might think that shutting borders and limiting immigration is the quick fix. It is not!

Farage is pulling the wool over your eyes again (didn’t go well last time did it?) making you think that immigrants are ‘taking our jobs’ and making life harder for everyone. NO it’s so much more complicated than that.

JSMill · 28/06/2024 21:52

OooSorryDoctor · 28/06/2024 18:43

It’s been revealed that it was a set up and an actor though. I imagine it’s only going to reinforce Reform voters to vote Reform. It’s showing how scared the other parties are becoming with Reforms popularity

Did you actually fall for that bullshit? People like you shouldn't be allowed to vote.

Sookafatwan · 28/06/2024 21:54

Again, frothing over Tate isnt going to help the anti reform cause. The more you tell people they are stupid for liking something the more they push back. Again, look at USA and Trump voters.Theres loads of right wingers in UK.

What constitutes frothing?

Sookafatwan · 28/06/2024 22:03

very angry or excited about something.

So you don't think people should get angry about racism or misogyny, great.

See it worked. Anything to get votes now we're at the desperate hours.

This is a dreadful post, as was your earlier one. Shame on you.

Racists gonna racist.
I just hope a few people think again after this, the gullible ones who didn't realise what they stand for.

I think anyone with basic critical thinking skills can understand reform/ ukip voters ideology. It's just that when it comes to practicalities and real life they are wrong. The UK relies heavily on immigration and that's why it's increased since Brexit. For all their right wing extremists, the Torys are nothing if not practical (and I say that as someone who despises them). They know we need immigration at a certain level to function, that's why it hasn't gone down. If there are people out there still stupid enough to believe the likes of Farage then there not much we can do about it but it's a small % of the population luckily.

paasll · 28/06/2024 22:33

I don't think so. Farage didn't say it - and he is the main attraction for Reform.

Tbf it is. Lunatics have historically been excluded from voting.

Sookafatwan · 28/06/2024 22:39

The horse has long since bolted when it comes to mainstream right win parties. UKIP seemed to kick it off, then we had that Britain First for a while and now its Reform. You may hate it but plenty dont. The fact Farage scared Cameron into calling that referendum, which was one of the biggest gambles ever, proves how you cant underestimate them.

Noosnom · 28/06/2024 22:41

No. Because they're all racist too.

Rummikub · 28/06/2024 22:41

That's why they're a concern.
People are saying they won't win but as a result of farage we ended up with brexit.

Agree with you there.

Feels so scarily similar to Brexit though. A vote for Reform feels like yet another ‘protest’ vote. A ‘two fingers to the man’ vote but also to the fantasy notion of ‘immigrants taking what is OURS’ 🫠

DadJoke · 02/07/2024 12:25

Channel 4 do not need to hire an actor to pretend to be a racist supporter of Reform UK. You only have to hit the Reform tree with a stick and a whole bunch of racists fall out. It's ridiculous Trumpian misdirection. The fact that there were a bunch of other racists who Farage half-heartedly disowned shows this for the nonsense it is. But these allegations allow people to have cover for their racist views and continue to support Reform.
