Do You Have A Roast Every/Most Sundays?

I love a roast but can’t remember the last time I did one with all the trimmings. Sometimes we’ll have a mini roast midweek. Having bangers & mash tonight which reminds me I need to peel the spuds!

We have one most weeks in the winter but not this time of year (although the kids would happily eat one I don't want to be roasting stuff when it's hot!)

BebbanburgIsMine · 23/06/2024 13:46

No, just DD and me here, we love a roast but can't afford to have one every week.

I suppose we might have one maybe six or seven times a year, including Christmas

ByCupidStunt · 23/06/2024 13:46

Yep! My 4 kids have all flown the nest but they all come with their kids and partners every Sunday for lunch. I love it.

Most weeks just had roast beef with all the trimmings been wolfed down here!

WowIlikereallyhateyou · 23/06/2024 13:51

From october to april, yes we do. From may onwards, salmon, steak, lamb, bbq usually.

JC03745 · 23/06/2024 13:51

Just DH and myself. Often have roast chicken, but sometimes pork or beef. We have family visiting today and having chicken thighs, new potatoes and a selection of salads.

VolvoFan · 23/06/2024 13:52

We try to, yes. It's either that or steak cooked rare.

That lovely, such an ideal scenario!!!!

I would like to, just DH and here, we sometimes remember, but also sometimes have conflicting arrangements.

MaryBeardsShoes · 23/06/2024 13:57

It’s only 22° here in Oxfordshire. Yes we wil have a roast. Often do on a Sunday, but not always!

Crikeyalmighty · 23/06/2024 13:57

Sept to April I would say most Sundays- I vary it up outside of that- making Tom Kerridges sausage roast today

Hollyhocksarenotmessy · 23/06/2024 13:59

About 1-2 times a month in winter.

Rarely in summer.

biscuitsnow · 23/06/2024 13:59

No- we have what we fancy at the time or have bought in that week. I dont like the idea of having to eat something just because it's Sunday. Just my personal opinion, if others like it thats great.

JaninaDuszejko · 23/06/2024 14:01

No. I'd rather have a casserole than a roast, less work. And I like cooking.

RealityPrinciple · 23/06/2024 14:01

No. We never eat dinner on Sundays. It's a day for having a late, leisurely breakfast and then heading out for the day.

EveryOtherNameTaken · 23/06/2024 14:05

Nearly always.

Just had roast pork. Nap time now.

ranoutofquinoaandprosecco · 23/06/2024 14:11

@Neurodiversitydoctor West Yorkshire sunny but not that hot!

Theothername · 23/06/2024 14:13

I always imagined I would but sadly, no

GigiAnnna · 23/06/2024 14:18

Usually but it's been a bit of a chaotic weekend and it's too hot so I can't be arsed.

Makegoodchoices · 23/06/2024 14:20

We have one at Christmas but the rest of the time are taking the kids to sports! Very occasionally have a Monday roast chicken but never with normal full roast sides.

Decafflatteplease · 23/06/2024 14:21

Most Sundays it's a special meal here so usually a roast, lasagne, something different from the weekly routine. Today is sausage, mash, kale and roast parsnips. We usually have a pudding on a Sunday aswell, today is banana bread

Netaporter · 23/06/2024 14:26

Yes - Sundays here = Roast plus the Grand Prix, it’s the family Law 😂

mondaytosunday · 23/06/2024 14:27

No - not since my DH passed away (he cooked it) and my mother moved (then passed away). I do cook a mini roast occasionally but to do it with all the trimmings it's either Easter or Christmas or someone's birthday.

Champagnebar · 23/06/2024 14:28

No, never. We used to when the DC were all at home but we just do our own thing now.

plus all now vegan so not really the same 🤪

Revelatio · 23/06/2024 14:30

We have a Sunday roast only when Christmas falls on a Sunday!
