What drink do you have with a full English?

Went out for brunch today and had a full English and realised I was struggling when asked what drink I wanted with it. I ended up getting an iced latte as it was a hot day and we were outside.

What drinks do you guys go for?

I usually do an orange juice but do love a flavoured hot/ iced coffee aswell.

Glass of apple juice. I struggle to drink hot drinks with hot meals!

NotSoHotMess24 · 20/06/2024 23:28

..... Tea.

Any other answer is wrong.

LaWench · 20/06/2024 23:30

A sports direct gallon mug of Yorkshire Tea, perfect to wash down a Full English.

I can't stomach hot drinks with food. Water and wine are the only things that go with food!

So, assuming I'm not on holiday and a 10am champagne is out of the question:

Coffee before
Water with the meal
Tea afterwards

Iwant2beJessicaFletcher · 20/06/2024 23:31

Chocolate milkshake or water

planAplanB · 20/06/2024 23:31

Tea and an orange juice

IBegYourBiggestPardon · 20/06/2024 23:32

Fresh orange juice to start and then a cup of tea to finish. It cuts through the grease. Same reason I have to have a cup of tea with fish and chips no matter how hot it is outside

Why??

Somebody hasn't RTFT Blush

HeadacheEarthquake · 20/06/2024 23:33

Black tea! Or an orange juice

ILoveToCleanSaidNooneEver · 20/06/2024 23:33

My initial reaction to your title would be coffee and orange, but you said brunch so I would choose tea.

OopsieeDaisy · 20/06/2024 23:34

Usually a latte, but on a hot day I have had a vanilla iced latte with a full English so I see nothing wrong with this!

Chocolate milkshake or water

Philistine.

Floatinginatincan · 20/06/2024 23:35

I would go for coke unless it's at an airport, then I would have a beer.

CarolinaInTheMorning · 20/06/2024 23:36

I'm American, living in the Deep South, so it wouldn't really be a full English, but when I have a big breakfast it is almost always later in the morning after I have had my fill of coffee. DH and I both usually have iced tea (otherwise immortalized by Dolly Parton in Steel Magnolias as "the house wine of the South.")

I think it's actually illegal to have anything other than tea isn't it?

Coffee is also legal provided that you drink it from a mug.

Mostlyoblivious · 20/06/2024 23:37

Tea and OJ or occasionally Apple juice. If it’s a fun brunch then a mimosa is lovely too

LittleRedHen77 · 20/06/2024 23:41

In a cafe/pub coke then coffee, in a hotel orange juice then coffee

Giggorata · 20/06/2024 23:41

A pot of tea.

burnoutbabe · 20/06/2024 23:42

If in a greasy spoon then tea.

If say brunch in all bar one and I am dithering between eggs Benedict or French toast or full English then a latte as I would have picked my drink first (in my head) and won't change it based on food ordered.

pandasorous · 20/06/2024 23:43

tea with milk

Chickenwing2 · 20/06/2024 23:48

I'm actually surprised so many people will have a hot drink with a fry up Shock I would like a Diet Coke or Pepsi max. Maybe an orange or apple juice if at a hotel.

Tea with the meal or an Americano when finished. Only have orange juice when it's in a hotel and that's usually to wash down medication and also if in a hotel love it when they give you a pot of coffee and lots of refills that's if the coffee is good.
Here in NI it's called an Ulster Fry and includes fried soda bread and potato bread. potato bread with a poached egg on top. Heaven that lovely yolk soaking into the bread

I had a very enjoyable holiday in NI where my daily diet consisted of an Ulster Fry mid- morning, followed by a huge chocolate eclair in the afternoon - proper massive eclairs with real crackly chocolate on the top, not that brown gunky muck that seems to prevail far too often nowadays. That was one great holiday!

specialsauce · 21/06/2024 00:01

massive tea

Annasoror · 21/06/2024 00:06

Coffee - strong - lots of it.
