How often are you in pain?

And how often do you take painkillers?

I'm in pain daily, but today is the first time I've taken painkillers (this week), which got me wondering...

I try not to take anything due to the impact many painkillers have on the liver etc

A few days every month with my period, and most days with scaroiliitis in my hips. I don't take medication for the latter unless it's really bad though.

All the time! It's probably best to ask 'when are you not in pain?'

I only take painkillers when it gets beyond what I can cope with

Constantly. I have tried really hard to manage without painkillers, but recently I have to take my permitted dose every day just to be able to function. It is depressing because I know it is only going to get worse.

Same here. Daily and very reluctantly but it's the only way I can function. I avoided them for years and years.

I should mention in terms of painkillers, I do get weed in fairly regularly. It's as effective as morphine for my arthritis. I wouldn't do something like a four hour drive without something to smoke when I arrive. I'd be as stiff as a post otherwise.

A friend grows her own weed for fibromyalgia. She finds it essential to keep moving.

@beckybarefoot I'll raise you 2 hip replacements! Had the first 5 years ago and the second on 18 December last year.
Also had surgery twice for burst discs in my lower back and looking at possible neck surgery. It never ends or gets any better.
You have my sympathy too

I run, something is always hurting, but except for extreme circumstances , the only thing I take painkillers for is period pain.
