Blimey, She’s not letting him off the hook at all. Cut above the rest of the interviewers IMO.

This
im more than happy with a sensible, grown up, intelligent, caring person who is slightly dull than the shite we’ve had for far too long now.

I also agree with both posts above. When some people say that Keir Stamer is boring they actually mean he is not so sleek or flashy as many Tories politicians and tbh I prefer him for that.

Churchview · 12/06/2024 21:05

Nothing dull about Theresa May and her running through wheat fields.
She was perhaps the last vaguely serious seeming PM we had though when you consider the dross and clowns the Tories have given us since.

Theresa May became hugely more animated after she returned to the back benches. Remember her anecdote about the late Queen? Just lovely. And unexpected. Same as Gordon Brown - suddenly became human when leaving office.

He could’ve answered the questions he was asked? And stop wittering on about his dad being a tool maker who once couldn’t pay the phone bill.

I was watching this interview with my 17 year old son and we both agree that he provided clear answers. Yes, he has spoken about his Dad being a Toolmaker but I expected that, like I expected Sunak to mention his GP and Pharmacist parents.

Not sure who Keith is - the chap off Pottery Throwdown? Assume Richie is Lionel?

@Netaporter

You honestly don’t think the Unions will remove Keir in favour of AR?

You might want to look up what percentage of the membership voted Starmer as Leader - and fact lessons were learned from the Millband brothers debacle

StarDolphins · 12/06/2024 21:15

I was willing her to interrupt Keir because he was just going off on a tangent constantly. He either needs to answer the question or not. Bringing in his Northern Ireland/judicial system lines multiple times doesn’t make people forget the question.

Goldenbear · 12/06/2024 21:15

It looks like many other people at 64% for Starmer viewed it like me.

I do feel a bit sorry for Sunak but I suppose that’s politics for you!

It’s surprising how often this happens. People are free from the weight of bing in office and can be more vocal, more honest, more themselves

Netaporter · 12/06/2024 21:16

Sky says 36:84 in favour of KS as to who won with over a 1000 pollsters.

Last week a gnat’s whisker between them.

D Day was a fatal error.

Thanks but I don’t need to look anything up. Surely the past term has shown anything is possible? Just because it is :Labour in power doesn’t mean they wouldn’t; be emboldened to do the same as the tortes.

Sunak just looks and sounds like he's going through the motions waiting for the axe to fall and he can get on with his non PM life in 3 weeks. He knows he's toast.

He often goes off at a tangent, classic deflection technique. It’s a done deal that Labour will get into power but not because KS is charismatic or convincing in any way, just that Conservatives have been rubbish. He doesn’t really have to do anything, which is just as well as he doesn’t.

I would agree The timing does speak to a lovely long uninterrupted summer holiday for RS.,

Can you mention some of these things for us please? Unfortunately my impression is he’s always caught on the back foot when being interviewed, and dodges a lot like all politicians, so I haven’t ever actually heard his genuine thoughts about anything much.

Hello! Like Beth I am now lying down in a darkened room with a stiff G&T!

But I will PM you tomorrow with the reasons why I support Labour due to what they stand for and I hope you will think of giving them a chance too 😊

I think that’s a bit harsh. I don’t doubt he’s a man of substance and will be a credible leader. I also don’t doubt there’s substance to Labour plans. I just think he doesn’t come across as engaging or showy. Which is fine

Netaporter · 12/06/2024 19:43

Go Beth. ‘When a politician say he has no plans, it means he might’

He’s no idea what to do here.

Whoever from Labour Party central control let him on this will wish they’d kept him at home. It’s an only a shame this is not on a terrestrial channel.

yeah exactly. Wouldn’t be on the BBC in a million years…..

Sorry Nothing to do with pies. Everything to do with what the tories have done to successive leaders over the past year.

I agree. If bluey was LP leader they’d still win. Everyone I know who is voting them is doing so just to get tories out.

coffeandteav · 12/06/2024 21:25

I fundamentally disagree with this point, I genuinely think people do like Starmer and his integrity and his more centrist approach.

I'm going to complain to Sky about biased questioning by Rigby. Very poor.

You won’t get anywhere.
I don’t think she’s biased anyway just very good at what she does, which is giving top politicians a going over.😁
