Blimey, She’s not letting him off the hook at all. Cut above the rest of the interviewers IMO.

Thinks about what?

Anything. He hasn’t said what he would actually do about a whole raft of issues.

I know a great deal about what Keir thinks, but obviously I say that as a Labour supporter and someone very interested in politics.

Don't worry OP you will soon get to know a lot about what he thinks!

L1ttledrummergirl · 12/06/2024 21:00

Calm, steady, determined to do what's right.

I thought Starmer did really well tonight.

This
im more than happy with a sensible, grown up, intelligent, caring person who is slightly dull than the shite we’ve had for far too long now.

Theresa May was the very definition of dull. Didn’t make her a great PM either.

Except for the honest answer about his kids, we don’t know what he actually thinks. That’s my point.

You find out by listening to everything he’s said over the last few years. Not this one interview.

Tbh I think you have selective hearing/reading.

Greenbather · 12/06/2024 21:02

Trust me, it's a lot more palatable than what RS thinks!

Bye Beth, you were an absolute biased disgrace! But it was still enjoyable,

The ‘real Starmer’ seems to me to be this man - he’s not a rock star, how do you want him to behave. He appears to be intelligent and hardworking, he’s not supposed to be a rock star. What do you think a good PM looks like?

Totally agree with this.

A man who's spent most of his life in the service of the country and who will quietly go about improving things for ordinary people. He will be the perfect antidote to the revolving door drama we've had for the past 14 years.

I don’t think she was caring

She already had a bad record as Home Sec.

Was dealt an impossible hand with Brexit though.

Can you mention some of these things for us please? Unfortunately my impression is he’s always caught on the back foot when being interviewed, and dodges a lot like all politicians, so I haven’t ever actually heard his genuine thoughts about anything much.

I’m undecided. If I was a real cynic I’d vote Labour as last time they were in power I was far better off… and I am a HR tax payer.

You honestly don’t think the Unions will remove Keir in favour of AR?

Nothing dull about Theresa May and her running through wheat fields.
She was perhaps the last vaguely serious seeming PM we had though when you consider the dross and clowns the Tories have given us since.

In future elections I hope all the debates come after the manifestos are published so they can be properly held to account

How was he supposed to do that, it was an interview not a lecture from the two party leaders; followed by Q&A from the audience.

I'm going to complain to Sky about biased questioning by Rigby. Very poor.

He could’ve answered the questions he was asked? And stop wittering on about his dad being a tool maker who once couldn’t pay the phone bill.

DistinguishedSocialCommentator · 12/06/2024 21:09

Rigsby is not as vocal or asseritve - but she gave the same treatment to both

Starmer got a beating and the nightmare came to haunt him, EG, Starmer stated at the last GE that "Jeremy Corby was a good leader." - just shows his true colours I guess and that IMO, made Starmer very, very nervous and he could not really recover from it

Both of the men chatted a load of BS

Starmer stated he had "no plans to raise taxes for workers." Rigby shot him down saying "no plans" does not mean "he wont raise taxes for workers."

IMO, both are total BS
