Blimey, She’s not letting him off the hook at all. Cut above the rest of the interviewers IMO.

I can't believe the difference in BRs approach to these Interviews!

I like how Beth does this totally confused look 🤔
Or maybe she is genuinely confused. She certainly earned a big gin and tonic for herself today.

Greenbather · 12/06/2024 20:41

Hope the audience does a better job at tackling him than simpering Beth.

motherofgodhaudyerwheesht · 12/06/2024 20:42

If we are asking politicians to be truthful, holding Beth Rigby to the same standard would require her to say 'whatever' or indeed 'whatevs' rather than the endless disinterested and dismissive 'oks'. 😄

Greenbather · 12/06/2024 20:42

Good start!

How many time has the govt been told they don't actually control the inflation rate, but it is all they take credit for (because there is nothing else frankly).

No applause for that housing answer anyway.

Rishi spent too much time remembering Ian’s name that the fact his daughter was 19 and not trying to buy a house for £425K

Sunak is a dead man walking. I personally liked Starmer; he seems a decent man with a sense of morality. I don't think he's the best speaker at times, but I don't need a glossy debater. I'd do no better and I'd take him any day over the Tories.

Blackcatty · 12/06/2024 20:48

For those posters that have enjoyed Beth Rigby on this, I really recommend her podcast - Electoral Dysfunction. It’s her, Ruth Davidson and normally Jess Phillips (but Jess is campaigning at the mo so stand in guest). It’s got a light tone and a very easy, funny listen.

I agree about Sunak but there are a great deal of people wanting to see the real Starmer and he failed to show up again. This was his chance to sway the undecided.

I do wonder where all these qualified dentists and doctors are going to appear from?
Cloud cuckoo land???
And this applies to all parties!

It is a real shame Jess Philips is not Keir’s deputy.

Basically imo they are all lying bastards. Not sure I can actually vote for any of them. Spoil the ballot paper???
I do wish a party called ‘None of the above’ stands as I’m sure they’d win.

The ‘real Starmer’ seems to me to be this man - he’s not a rock star, how do you want him to behave. He appears to be intelligent and hardworking, he’s not supposed to be a rock star. What do you think a good PM looks like?

Greenbather · 12/06/2024 20:56

"Trust takes time to rebuild through actions"

Except your time is up mate.

motherofgodhaudyerwheesht · 12/06/2024 20:56

Glad that two members of the audience have raised the uncomfortable topic of the government's management of Covid. Whatever your view on that I am surprised it hasn't been a more dominant issue thus far. Tanking the economy mentioned frequently in the media, lost lives less so, in the media. Electorate may have longer memories.

Except for the honest answer about his kids, we don’t know what he actually thinks. That’s my point.

Obsessed with the past two. KS hasn't been in charge for last 14 years.

This
im more than happy with a sensible, grown up, intelligent, caring person who is slightly dull than the shite we’ve had for far too long now.
