I only just found out about Golden Kiwis, they are gorgeous.
I can’t stop eating them.

My mother told me about them, I had never even heard of them, I’m at the supermarket now and wondering what else am I missing out on??😁

Laoganma Crispy Chilli Oil.

I am obsessed. With eggs in any form, any time of the day or night. In a cheese sandwich, toasted or not. And anything else I can think of.

This ⬆️

Me too, can’t stop eating it!

the chilli flakes themselves are crunchy

I bought this, but it tasted off. I don’t know if there was something wrong with it or what..

Hate when people constantly say they’re like snot when they have no idea what they’re on about.

I tried raw oysters and gagged, it was revolting. Cooked, they're fine, I often use oyster meat in meat pies and stews.

Yes, but have you tried snot? Maybe it depends on what kind of snot?

😬🤢😅

Pesto. Late on the bandwagon here. Ive been making chicken, rocket, pesto mixed with mayo and mozzarella paninis for lunch.

Pesto mixed with creme fraiche in pasta ia nice!

Scrambled eggs with cottage cheese.

Mix them together before cooking and they come out really creamy and fluffy.

Really high in protein too!

For fellow dairy-avoiders: I do this with Silken Tofu. I also put it on pizzas - it melts more than mozzarella, but does a half-decent job if pizza isn't pizza without the 'cheese'!

Garlicker · 10/06/2024 17:46

Mine are Sumac and Za'atar. I'd had them in restaurants, but failed to appreciate their universal applications. Za'atar especially, you can add it before or while cooking or sprinkle it on after. It's a slightly curry-like spice blend with lots of crunch.

Tiptree Little Scarlet strawberry jam.

I always thought I didn't like strawberry jam but read about this and I was intrigued. The Little Scarlet strawberries are a tiny variety (the size of 1p coins) and extremely sweet. More like a wild strawberry than the standard ones in the shops.

Well I bought a jar and it is absolutely delicious!

Goddammit.

Edit: was too quick in my disappointment, meant to add a photo 😂

Does this mean I have to go on a weekend trip to the UK? I think it does.

coffee renoirs.......mmm delicious

Overnight oats or Bircher muesli soaked in Jersey full milk.

A revelation, and not as many more calories than 'whole' or semi-skimmed milk as you'd expect.

Anzac biscuits, only drawback I make them so reduces indulgent tendencies(BBC Good Food) recipe

I'm hooked on this recipe too, I must've made a dozen (double!) batches in the last few weeks. Highly recommended!

I am trying to improve my gut microbiome and have come across Tempeh..... has anyone got a good tried and tested recipes? I have no idea what to do with it.

Bin it. That's your best bet.

upinaballoon · 10/06/2024 19:09

Ready-made spinach and something cannelloni. I know there are 'all those additives' but it would be a bit much to make from scratch! Lazy me! The something is a cheese of course, but I can't remember which one. After a moment's thought, got it - ricotta.

upinaballoon · 10/06/2024 19:13

Oh, and Sainsbury's Be Good To Yourself pistachio tiramisu. I was just loitering down the puddings aisle and it was near my birthday.

IBegYourBiggestPardon · 10/06/2024 19:15

I discovered curly kale the other week whilst watching YouTube. The recipe was mushrooms and onions sautéed with some garlic. Chuck in some kale and top with grilled hallumi and pesto. It was lovely but sadly the 2 times I've eaten kale it's given me explosive shits.

Overnight oats with dates. I use skimmed milk but add yoghurt.

Oh they are delicious! The memory of them. Haven't had one in about 5 years. My grandma had a homosexual brother who was a chef and patisserie specialist. He was very flamboyant, always beautifully dressed, very kind and made the most amazing pastries and cream cakes. I loved Coffee Renoirs when I was a child. Never see them these days.

NextPhaseOfLife · 10/06/2024 20:43

I've rediscovered Rice Crispies 😂😂

Cold milk, mass of crunch Rice Crispies - food of the gods!

I got my first one from a garden centre cafe, but discovered them in Booths last weekend, so I'll be paying Booths lots of visits from now on.

Oh if Booths do them I'll be treating myself when we go to Keswick next month 😁

Milled linseed from Aldi/Lidl. Great easy way to get more nutrients & fibre in your diet - I sprinkle it over yoghurt/granola

I love tempeh - it’s got to be sliced thinly or chopped finely and shallow fried in a little oil until crispy to taste good though, in my opinion.

I have not, no. As in grilled cheese or just plain cheese?

Grate some cheddar into the beans. Start with a small amount. Then you can add more if you like it. Beans and cheese is an amazing combination 👌

HRTQueen · 10/06/2024 23:05
