Madeleine McCann new evidence - BREAKING NEWS

PrettyFlyforaMaiTai · 05/06/2024 18:58

A Senior German detective has told a court that investigators had found emails on a Hotmail account used by Christian Brueckner that linked him directly to the Madeleine McCann case.

However, the detective was unable to share details of the evidence as it was 'related to the killing' of Madeleine. Brueckner, the prime suspect, is currently on trial in Germany for unrelated sex crimes.

I hope they get answers and I do feel for them - so genuinely painful

but it was their fault, it wasn’t one night, it was several and they had plenty of ‘me time’ in the day and sent them to camps and had private tennis lessons. Obviously they didn’t cause it to happen but they enabled it by their own neglect.

It was the fault of the person who abducted her

I saw on another forum that there is a new book just come out by a retired detective....The Sudden Impulse is the name of the book. Very recently published in last few weeks...

Is this the book that claims she died the day before, on 2nd May? If so, does it address what reasons were given for why nobody saw her all day on 3rd, because apparently photos were taken and she went to kids club that day?

parkrun500club · 06/06/2024 15:08

Yes.

It's also worth remembering that another young girl was abducted from a caravan in which her own parents were sleeping (in the UK). Through an open window.

And do people remember the 13 year old who was murdered in France in a youth hostel bedroom with other children sleeping in it?

As others have said, if it hadn't been Madeleine, it would have been another child.

Can we blame the arse who murdered her please.

There was that young child abducted from the bathroom of her house in Tyneside, and poor Nora Quoirin - older, but we can't be sure that she wandered off of her own volition.

Regardless of whether they killed her or not- I’ve always been outraged they never faced any sort of charge of child neglect. They abandoned their child, in a strange place to go and get pissed with their friends.

I lived above a pub when my daughter was born, I could have been up there in 30 seconds if necessary. But you can bet if anything terrible happened I would of got a lot more than they have ever faced 🤷‍♀️

Would that have made you feel better?

What would them being charged with neglect have changed?

Obviously the rest of their party would be similarly charged?

marshmallowmix · 06/06/2024 15:51

Yes @MoonKiss this one....I've not read it so don't know what the content is...it's just been released a couple of weeks ago.

It absolutely was, apartment complexes offered a service where they would
go round and check on the children at intervals

It really wasn't in my circles.

I don’t think emails from his account saying he strangled her (or whatever it is) would be enough to convict him in court without a body or some other evidence.

He’ll just say “my email was hacked” and in the absence of any other proof I don’t think you could say there was no reasonable doubt.

They’ve questioned him I think. Just haven’t found any hard evidence linking him to her.

If he did do it why would he put it in writing though ? Who was he talking to ? I listen to TCRS and he thinks it wasn’t him as there was no evidence. This seems a bit too convenient.

Alltheunreadbooks · 06/06/2024 16:34

Only on Mumsnet do you get phrases like ' Those poor parents ' and that they have ' suffered enough'.

I find it absolutely fascinating.

On the other forums I frequent the McCanns are roundly lambasted for their awful parenting, not to mention the other aspects of the case that leave questions unanswered.

Is it true that it's because Kate is a close friend of the Mumsnet owners?

I guess this post will probably be deleted.

MoonKiss · 06/06/2024 16:39

”Is it true that it's because Kate is a close friend of the Mumsnet owners?”

No it’s obviously because this is a site chock full of parents with young children. Most here can empathise with the horror that would be a missing or dead child.

Bahhhhhumbug · 06/06/2024 16:40

Yes l agree,l was a child of the 60s and we went on Butlins holidays where they had people walking or cycling up and down the rows of chalets listening for babies/children crying. They called it the Baby Listening service or some such. Your parents basically gave their chalet no.in at reception along with which bar/ballroom/whatever they were going to be in and if a child was heard crying they called chalet no. out over tannoy. Nobody batted an eyelid.

No, it's because it is not very interesting to lambast the same people for 20 odd years. Yes, they were neglectful.

But reading the OP, I still don't think Brueckner will be brought to justice on this, as they have been trying for years to pin it on him.

SocoBateVira · 06/06/2024 16:47

Not to mention the very experienced police chief on the case being so sure of their involvement that he lost his career, home, had his assets frozen in writing a book about the case and was unsuccessfully sued all the way up to the ECHR.

Imagine thinking that occupation and the ability to hire a PR firm must be the reasons why a forum full of mothers would throw up people who know better than to have any respect for Goncarlo Amaral.

DemBonesDemBones · 06/06/2024 16:49

There's a very very interesting interview concerning this case on YouTube where Richard Hall talks to the statement analyst Peter Hyatt. It's called Embedded Confessions.

@gotmyknickersinatwist @Nopet unfortunately I agree with nopet on that it was suprisingly common - certainly on holidays I went on. A lot of putting kids to bed in hotel rooms at 7.30 and both parents going to check alternatively every 20 minutes too was common- along with baby listening done by reception- I'm not saying it was right and this case certainly I think probably brought it to a close- but the idea it was a rarity isn't true. I saw it happen on big Eurocamp type places too - which in a way is even worse as kids could easily just wander out.

If I can also comment about the fact that you still get many parents (some of whom would no doubt be judgmental about the McCanns and be having them sentenced to 30 years ) letting quite young kids wander around hotel receptions and bars and lounges playing around relatively unsupervised - whilst the parents often have one too many. I've seen that happen even recently - or kids playing around with lifts- some as young as 4 or 5 .

They made an error of judgement in what they presumed to be a safe space and have paid for it ever since. That surely is punishment enough . I also think the initial investigation was awful-

I think a certain type of 'lynch em' simply didn't believe them because they were posh and clearly comfortably off and she wasn't in floods of tears in an Eastenders way- people can react differently when in shock . we do see it on mumsnet too- people hating on others just because they appear to be doing ok

It's an awfully tragic case and for the parents sake I hope that their is a resolution of some kind

Just be aware that for every “expert” video saying the parents did it, there is another equally compelling one saying they didn’t.

Confirmation bias is real.

SocoBateVira · 06/06/2024 16:56

I always think the way class has been applied to the McCanns is very interesting. Because they're not posh at all, really. Hence the accents. They're from pretty humble backgrounds in Huyton and Glasgow, and socially climbed. Nothing about them really gives posh. What they actually are is high income professionals. They're not Karen Matthews, obviously, but who knows how different it might've all looked if they'd been actually posh?

And at the end of the day whether they were right or wrong it is done. It is over and done with. They left them. We know this. This is concrete evidence and thers coming on with oh I would have or I wouldnt have has absolutely nothing to do with it. They did. Rightly or wrongly but that is the ONLY actual thing anyone 100% knows of this case.

Incorrect. This is not concrete. There are no independent witnesses to verify that Madeline was in that room that night. Was she? wasn't she? Nothing is 100% ever.

You can’t tell people not to have an opinion on a book that someone chose to write. That is the whole point!

And it’s irrelevant what date they last sued someone. It is well known that they are still threatening people who say Madeleine may not have been abducted with legal action to this day. Amazon pulls books that people write. That is also why so many posts are being deleted on this thread. The last thing MN needs is another Gina Ford debacle.

You can’t tell people not to have an opinion on your opinion either. In my opinion your opinion about it is childish and driven by faux outrage ito enable you to further criticise Kate McCann by fixating on one word in her autobiography. The dates on which the McCanns have threatened legal action are relevant to accusations that they are still doing it to this day - where is your actual evidence? Do you think the McCanns lawyers are reading this thread and instructing Mumsnet to remove various posts? You’re having a laugh surely…

Ime the amount of time people spend lambasting the McCanns is obversely indexed to the number of brain cells.

Absolute rubbish “only on Mumsnet” - you’ll be accusing those who sympathise with them of being paid shills next.

As a parent who had children a similar age in the 90s/00s it was considered ok to eat very close to our apartment and regularly check. It was normal and never on our radar that a weirdo would steal our child.

Have to say I completely disagree with this comment. My DD was 3 months younger than Madeline, I also had a son who was 2 at the time and would never ever have left either one of them alone in an apartment. It was not considered an ok thing to do then just as it isnt now. Not blaming the parents, they have suffered the ultimate price for their mistake but not on any planet would it be ok to leave such young kids alone.

My DD is also the same age as Madeline. Wouldn’t have dreamed of leaving her sleeping whilst I ate in a restaurant a few 100 yards up the road.

Onomatofear · 06/06/2024 17:02

ThePerfectDog · 06/06/2024 15:19

My issue is the poster hadn’t even read the book but read what someone else said about it and quoted that as evidence of a criminal issue.

If you’ve read the book and that’s your interpretation, whilst others might disagree, at least you’re actually basing it on something that you’ve seen / read first hand. In reality by the time she’s said it, it’s been documented, written into a narrative, edited, read by someone else, they’ve then reported it through their own lense and then been read / listened to by someone else, it’s been through 6 different filters and the original meaning could be completely different.

I understand. For my own part, back when I supported the Mccanns, I did buy and read this book.

WRT that specific quote, when people question it I took it to mean that if your child was likely to have been taken by a pedophile and you did not know what had become of them, it would be very hard to say those words unless you knew that’s not what happened to your child.

Over time, I have come to be more dubious about some of the things which just don’t add up. It’s not a conspiracy theory - it’s based on what people who work for the police and criminal profilers have said after they were asked to look at the case.
