How do I get this fox to fuck off?!

This damn fox will not stop following me and my dog on our late night walk around the block. It's a total twat. If I take a right turn, it follows us. If I let the fox get ahead and it goes one way, I go another - and then it comes back and starts following us again!

My dog goes mad and barks and pulls at the lead when twat fox is about and it's becoming a nightly occurrence. How do I get it to piss off?! Obviously telling it to fuck off isn't working and I must look and sound like a lunatic. What can I do to shoo it away?! It's ruining our previous lovely late night walks.

I've lived in London all my life and never been harassed like this as a female lone walker or had to 'vary my route' before! Help

One of my DSs who was early 20s seemed to have the same problem , he was telling me and his dbs one day that he had a stand off with a fox in alley not far from our house, a few days later saw it again in the street and few other times , he has not been a fan of foxes ever since ( this was in the midlands)

I'm a "big" dog lover... your name says everything! I can't wait to have the time for a Rottweiler, they are beautiful, I've never had the pleasure, mostly old rescue Boxers who were a joy but a Rottweiler hopefully one day (apologies for de-railing)

Aww Rotties are adorable dogs, very loyal and protective ours is 7, and I feel very protected against Foxes and other beasts 😉. You can't go wrong getting one

@Rottweilermummy this is an awful question so excuse me, I've had a English Bulldog & the Boxers of course... tell me can they be healthy? Could I hope for many years with a beaut?

No problem I've heard of some living to 15, but I think average is about 8-10

Which is better than a fox which is only 3-4 😉

@Rottweilermummy thank you, my heart has been broken with dogs over the years but I miss them so much & would love an aul Rottweiler (no foxes necessary)

Aww sorry to hear that , I have yet to have heart broken as this is my first dog spent years begging dad to have one then when I became adult was put off by dog hairs, vets fees and walking in rain, still am lol but our rottie is worth it all, she sleeps with us too,

@Rottweilermummy ah she sounds like a dote! I'll get blasted for this but they really are like having a child, all the same responsibility (or at least should be!) Your day revolves around them, hail, rain or shine & yes the cost.. my god 😆Still can't wait to have another one in our lives, my son is at the age now where it's becoming harder to keep saying "not yet because..."

SheepAndSword · 12/06/2024 12:34

@Donutbed has foxy stopped following?

Donutbed · 12/06/2024 19:30

@SheepAndSword after seeing him every night I haven't seen him since I posted the thread! As I said maybe he read the thread and took the hint?! DDog and I have been away a few nights and home for a few nights. DDog is now with my ex for a couple of weeks in his country house. Maybe Dfox has relocated there in anticipation...
