Helicopter, wood pigeons, occasionally toot from a steam engine! Voices from nearby riverside walk. Tannoy voice from sports field. I think there’s an athletics competition going on.

Westfacing · 02/06/2024 11:07

Background traffic but no sirens or tooting - middle of London
Lots of birds noisily tweeting
Group of runners chatting

Nice and sunny, 18C, and all is well 🌞

Birds, and next doors pond. Bliss

The sound of a next door pond, presumably bubbling away, would drive me crazy - give me traffic any day! Grin

Ratfinkstinkypink · 02/06/2024 11:12

Birds, lots of birds. A pheasant calling, somewhere in the distance a deer is barking. Nextdoor's cockerel is crowing and I can hear one of the girls doing the egg song. Above all I can hear the wind in our trees.

FizzyStream · 02/06/2024 11:12

Birds
Car driving past the end of our cul de sac
DS1s iPad on YouTube inside (I'm sat by the open patio door; it's not that loud)
Breeze ruffling the bike covers
Next door moving their wheelie bin
Dog barking
Someone clattering crockey in their kitchen obvs with a door or window open.

Sounds like a lot but they're all sporadic noises and it's actually overall quite quiet.

Oh and the cat just hissed at me because I told her to move out the way.

MyOtherCarisAVauxhallZafira · 02/06/2024 11:13

Birds, the occasional train in the distance, (faint and only when the wind is blowing in the right direction), a lawnmower further down the road , DS snoring, he's asleep on the big round swing seat we've got under the tree, we got back from holiday yesterday and we're all a bit tired, the occasional scramble from the cat chasing bugs

Roserunner · 02/06/2024 11:13

Someone with a jet wash. When that's not on they're resurfacing our road which I can smell more than hear. I've heard a few kids playing as well and some birds.

ColdExtremities · 02/06/2024 11:13

Someone screaming at me that I'm in their back garden.
Reader, I don't have a back garden.

JaninaDuszejko · 02/06/2024 11:16

Birds
Bees buzzing, going crazy for the blossom on one of our trees in the sun, must be over 50 of them on it. The sound of summer.
Wind in the trees
My kids playing a board game in the dining room
My friend's kids playing football a few doors up
Cars in the distance
Someone using a powertool far away

lissie123 · 02/06/2024 11:16

Loads of birds, kids, road noise but not overpowering. There’s always an overarching sound of peace, the kid and road noise etc just blends in to the atmosphere. I like hearing life and movement around me :) luckily none of our neighbours are obnoxious.

Comedycook · 02/06/2024 11:21

Cars... don't live on a main road but it's the way to a main road so can hear them. Occasional dog barking and the odd car alarm.

MrsDTucker · 02/06/2024 11:23

@Tempnametoday

No small dogs near me but there is a big one who barks loudly but not often.

There are several yapping ones at my mums which I can't stand.

I'm autistic I hate most noises. Both my dds are in bed but I'll be listening to them screaming at eachother soon no doubt (not outside though).

DP pressure washing the patio
Someone's radio
Someone strumming a guitar (in between pressure washing breaks)

AstonMartha · 02/06/2024 11:26

Birds, sheep, the occasional tractor and my stupid dog barking to warn off any baddies every five minutes.

suckedinbyinstagram · 02/06/2024 11:27

My kids bouncing a basket ball
Fucking pigeon
Lawnmower in the distance
The odd car
Chatting of kids

rockingbird · 02/06/2024 11:29

I can hear the sea and seagulls, it's looking beautiful here this morning so I suspect the cars will be backed up by 12 🤦‍♀️
