Just watched the first 15 minutes of Up! for the first time. I am a BROKEN WOMAN!! I didn’t think anything could be worse than Disney killing Bambi’s mum, and here it is. Please tell me I’m not the only one?!

I know, it’s a proper gut punch isn’t it? The power of animation!

Everyone knows the start of Up is modern cinema’s biggest weepfest. It’s notorious for needing a full box of tissues before it even gets going.

I've managed to avoid this so far, eventually I know it will get me.

I’m still not over Bing Bong in Inside Out. Kids were oblivious. The mums were all sobbing into our popcorn.

DD watched this when she was about 8. We had to turn it off after 15 mins and she still brings it up now. In fact, she's also had an aversion to balloons since then.

Yeah i was floored by it too. I don't really like many Pixar movies, they cover the complex emotions or childhood/adulthood far too well.

I watched it a few years ago with a hangover. I was in BITS and I famously have a heart of stone.

This is why I've only seen it once. I just can't watch it again I was bawling.
Also Coco and encanto had me sobbing but I can rewatch those for some reason.

It's devestating but beautifully done. Just hearing the music sets me off.

I was expecting to get my heart stomped on going into it, but NOT THIS!!!

DS has profound SEND and will only watch Moana or Encanto normally so it’s not like I’m a stranger to the whole ‘people die in animated films’ thing, but I actually don’t think I can watch anymore.

Please tell me it gets less sad?!????!

It's a bloody fabulous film and work of pure art, I'm amazed you've escaped knowing how devastating the start is.

First 15 minutes of Up, Bing Bong in Inside Out and the last half hour of Toy Story bloody 3 just destroy me every time 😭
